Or in Keates' tenure:

3 goals in over 450 league minutes
4 goals in 90 Tunnocks minutes (against an U21 side)
2 goals in over 270 FA Cup minutes.

Take out the one off against tunnocks and in serious competition we have scored 5 goals in over 720 minutes, an average of one every 144 minutes!

Not exactly setting the world alight is it?!
But on the plus side we have tightened up the other end!

Bryan Hughes' points per game = 0.85

Under Bryan Hughes, goals scored per game = 1.3
Under Dean Keates, goals scored per game = 0.6

Under Bryan Hughes, goals conceded per game = 1.77
Under Dean Keates, goals conceded per game = 1

So the only real progress is defence, which is probably aided by Dibble not gifting a goal every week

Keates is playing with the dross Hughes fetched in mainly.

Dibble playing in goal was also Hughes fault for trusting him and also signing an inadequate backup to the inadequate backup.

Is that in total with Keates, or just since he came back? He's only had about 3 league games hasn't he?

When Bryn Hughes was sacked, were we in the relegation zone?

If we go through another 6 managers in the next 18 months god knows where we'll be.

Keates record of signings here is pretty terrible if you look back. Especially the January ones, dreadful. So I wouldn't be holding out much hope on him changing things on that front, he'll probably make us worse.

He's had 5 league games. 1 win 1 draw and 3 defeats. 3 goals scored and 5 conceded. In Hughes 5 last league games we got 2 points with 2 draws and 3 defeats. 6 goals scored and 9 conceded. In all Keates games so far we've had 3 clean sheets. In all Hughes' this season we had 1 (vs Halifax). Also with the exception of Chesterfield all Keates games have been against teams at the top of the table.

There has clearly been an improvement in organisation and defensive solidity. That's come at a price, as we knew it would.

As you say, chances missed but at least chances made. Tighter at the back and more co ordinated.

The only thing he has done is dumped Barnum and very mysteriously Lainton is suddenly fit which tells me player power with Hughes they were not trying for him in particular Pearson.

We were tight at the back last season and not scoring goals cost us automatic promotion.... He needs to find a happy medium else without goals we will do a Walsall.

Spot on that and Pearson has His mate who signed him back so is trying again.

Also the double suspension to Lawlor the difference is getting a steady defence no injuries or suspension and the liability that is Dibble signed by Keates is now out the side.
Progress to me will be competing for 90 mins not just 45. And better use of subs.
