The message is that everyone on the club board has all necessary skills which clearly isn't the case. Would a truly competent board, for example have appointed Bryan Hughes as manager? I think not. The audacity to say such a thing is jaw dropping. Its also the way they handle these thing after the sacking, forever on the defensive never admitting fault and never showing an ounce of humility.
Look at Leyton Orient getting rid of Fletcher after only a few weeks, this is a great example of a board or owners quickly realising their mistake holding their hands up, admitting they got it badly wrong but acting as soon as possible to put it right.
All done with the clubs best interests at heart and integrity (as far as I can see) even though its made them look, from the outside at least, a bit unstable and a bit silly which is something the owners have admitted and taken on the chin. They've come out and been truly transparent, open and honest.
We can only dream... fan owned or not.
