Default Like it or not, things are better with Keates

I know he wasn't everyone's first choice and a lot of fans are still unhappy with the signing, but there are obvious glimpses of improvement. Yeovil is a team we would have lost to under Hughes, of that I am convinced. The team looks much more well drilled and the standard of football is slowly improving. He's spent no time sorting out which players are in his plans, and has brought bodies in to help in the areas that we're lacking. I know it was a lazy decision by the board, but things are better than when Hughes was at the helm - not that it could have been much worse. On top of that, it's clear Keates cares as shown by actually showing some passion on the side-lines.

Agreed. I am not sure the board made a lazy decision in bringing Keates back though. Other than the turgid football at times, he did do pretty well last time around. If not why were people so upset when he left?

I think Keates is a far better option, and I think he will do ok here.

I think alot of the fans would agree Keates is a better option than Hughes, but they didnt want either. Thats the main problem.

League position says otherwise.

I think things have improved since he ditched the diamond, but until we can win away, things have not improved enough.

Anyone would have been a better option than Hughes. I still would love to know what he said to get the job.

Timing of him leaving when we were in the play offs was what got most people. Bizarrely he gets off lightly for this whereas Ricketts get slaughtered but he left us at least with a title challenging team that only failed because the board made an absolutely arse of replacing him, twice.

Football was dreadful under DK first time though, I think the writing was on the wall that season even if he stayed because we couldn't score goals. Would we have got to the plays offs and won them with that team? I doubt it.
His signings were also terrible, especially the January ones and he squandered the extra build the budget money on utter crap.

Far from convinced and there's a lot of absolute myths being pedalled in a desperate attempt to justify Keates being brought back.
