Correct.

Keates should never have been appointed, and he should be sacked after an abysmal start. However, that would currently be almost pointless because we still would have a Board who would pick another ex-player who would be an almighty risk.

Personally, I think we need a DoF, but he should be just that, and not cost an arm and leg to employ. I am struggling to think of an ex-player -- not necessarily an ex-Wrexham player -- who is available and would do it for free.

In the meantime, and because of the absolute dire straits we are in, there may be some mileage in making Pearson acting player-manager, with Carrington as his side-kick. That would give Pearson the motivation to kick arse amongst the players and at least get something better from them. It should not be a long-term solution but, at the moment, we are not in a position where we have a body who could choose the right manager to take us forward.

Whatever spare cash we have available needs to be spent now to avoid the drop. Once we go down the finances will implode, with no way back.

Lets not get all sorry for ourselves; rather, lets take control of the situation and at least go down fighting. But the WST must go now!

Our reputation might / or already has put people off. I wouldn’t trust the current people to employ the best person.

What does a Director of Football do?
Why would we need one - confused by this being part of the answer to our demise.

No self respecting DOF would work for this lot and besides as Horne found out they would over rule them anyway because they think that 'they are the best people for the club'.

Its like trying to deal with an already raging house fire by doing nothing but going shopping for some fire extinguishers whilst your house burns to the ground. Total insanity.

I would hope they would be in charge of all football related recruitment, which is the area we have royally screwed up.

Spencer has royally screwed up... and Pete Jones had no intention of holding him to account as was his role. This is what happens when a political clique grabs power... regardless of how incompetently things are run they defend each other.

I would also like them to go now but do you really mean that?

I suspect you really just want to change the cast? I am not criticising but asking for clarity.

They are not going to go and moving them will take time we do not have.

I agree entirely with your sentiments and you make several good suggestions but the practical position is only the WST can release the club from its iron grip and the WST is effectively under the control of a handful of people who will not budge voluntarily.

How do we change that quickly and simply?
