So you think the manager of a team has no impact? The team in first is the one with the best players and the team 24th? I respectfully disagree.

It’s not frothing anymore. People have played football manager with our club and royally feked it up. No excuses from them either which is shocking. Please let someone step in ASAP

First Question:

Yes the manager has a big influence. He decides who plays and where they play. The players themselves then have to go out and perform. Too many of those players aren’t good enough to play at this level.

Second question:

There may be a few discrepancies in league position but generally the league is an accurate representation of its teams abilities. Put it this way - there is a huge difference in top position and bottom. We worked ourselves into a good position under Ricketts last year, let our better attacking players leave, and then wonder why we had no impact in the playoffs!

I still maintain it is not the board who are to blame for the horrible position we are in, at least not to the extent that they should all resign or we move over to private ownership again. But if it is board members without good football management experience who are running the show those persons need to stand aside and let others who have that expertise take over to try and save us from relegation.
The players we have are not good enough to do it . This is now coming from a self confessed happy clapper. If they go down it will not stop me going to watch them in the North league but I know others will simply give it up.
So time to spend some of the hard owned cash asap on different players , not sack the board, Keates and appoint someone else who might just be as unsuccessful.
From what I hear we can afford to do something to get it turned around. In January buy two good strikers who are currently scoring goals in our league or the EFL. Goals win matches . It is as simple as that. 'Cause if we don't score them we are doomed.

It is completely the boards fault. They appointed Hughes and let him sign 5/6 players that now don’t even make the match day squad. They then give keates and Davies their old jobs back.

They are 100 per cent to blame! I don’t think they all need to resign but change is needed and that will result in maybe 1/2 board members leaving so the club can change direction.

Pete Jones really disappoints me. He’s chairman of the WST and hasn’t once come out and shown any sort of backbone. He’s meant to be representing the “owners” and keeping the club board accountable.

With Darlington coaching them and our management team setting out tactics, recent history suggests they'd stop scoring pretty quickly!
