I am convinced that the likes of Pearson could cause the opposition a few problems and would be a handful to mark and would be able to hold up play, at least it would give us a fighting chance given the current situation. The back four could then be Carrington Kennedy Lawlor Jennings. Any thoughts?
What makes you think Pearson can ‘hold up play’? I’m intrigued

Pearson would be awkward for any centre half to play against and would be a handful to mark. He has good aerial ability therefore the balls we are pumping high into the box for Bobby Grant would at least be challenged for and a high percentage won. Look I am not saying this is the answer Kennedy or Lawlor may be a better bet as a makeshift centre forward . It's just all to easy at present we offer nothing thro the middle up front . Only a short term fix.

A number of central defenders have taken on the centre forward role, some on a permanent basis. The most famous of course being the great John Charles at Leeds United. Paul Warhurst was another player who could play in either position it often happens in football.

You also forgot the famous Simon Ainge, he worked a treat up front.

I fully accept that it does not always work out and if you look into the history books of all football clubs there will be far more failures than successes with this experiment.

The point I am trying to make is that given our problems with the centre forward position it is worth due consideration.

At the funeral of one of our platform users I got talking to the gentleman's brother. He told me they had seen John Charles playing for Wales at the Racecourse. Centre Half first half, Centre Forward the second.
