Re: More trouble for Macclesfield
"...he was owed £180,000 in unpaid wages.
He was appointed Nov 2018 and left Aug 2019 How much money was he on at Macclesfield, no wonder they are in trouble..." Thats £240k/yr even if he was never paid!!! Maybe a signing on fee involved, or he had to pick up his agents fee? No matter what, it seems fiscally irresponsible! |

Re: More trouble for Macclesfield
In the immediate short term Macclesfield have probably lost just about the best Saturday afternoon's chance to get money in the till - a very local derby on a Saturday postponed will never generate the same potential monies on a re arranged Tuesday - things must be bad - it makes you wonder how much or how far back the wages arrears go and how many people are affected.
The worry for them, similar to Bury is that the warning signs have been there now for several seasons - even when they were top of the National League and on the verge of going up as Champions they were still financially in trouble - got to have massive sympathy for their fanbase just as those at Bury - after all we are all simple followers of our local team and without such clubs existing then we all become losers - have to travel further afield and loose out on local derby matches. I would imagine most Macclesfield players are based around the Manchester area - they may well find plenty of clubs nearer to home vying for their services - Sol Campbell saw the writing was on the wall and got out early - almost a mirror of Ryan Lowe departing Bury for Plymouth. |
