New WST Secretary and 2 new co opted board members
Wrexham Supporters Trust (WST) would like to announce that we have now filled the position of Independent Secretary to replace Alan Fox, who departed due to an increase in other work commitments. Our new independent secretary is Josh Williams. Josh is a Family Law solicitor based in Wrexham, and is a life long fan and season ticket holder at the club. We would like to thank Alan for agreeing a hand over to Josh before attending his first Society Board meeting later this month. I’m sure all members will wish Josh the very best in his new position. Commercial Group Announcements Further to the appointment of Josh as independent secretary, we would also like to welcome two new Society Board members to the Commercial group. One is to replace Jonathan Hughes who left in October, whilst also sadly departing from the Board is Simon Rhodes who was part of the interview panel that chose the two new co-opted Society Board members. Simon, who was elected to the board in June 2018, having previously been a co-opted board member, has found the time that he can give to the role of late has been limited. In those circumstances Simon felt it was best to allow someone who has availability the opportunity to help in support of the commercial team, that also includes Bryan Still, Club Director Gavin Jones and Geoff Scott, Wrexham AFC commercial manager. The Society Board would like to thank Simon for his input for the past two years.. We are therefore pleased to welcome to the Society Board, two new co-opted board members. James Harrison, who works for a 6 billion euro multinational business in their supply chain while also helping out in our Media Team and Matt Davies who has his owns a craft beer distribution business. We wish all three appointments well in their new roles. |

Are we allowed to like these guys or are they Spencer’s lackies who must immediately be strung up from the floodlights with Pete Jones?

Re: New WST Secretary and 2 new co opted board members
I think it should be pointed out that many of the WST board have responsibilities, including on match day. I dont know Bryan Still himself but if you look at the WST site he has to get stuck in to various jobs which must keep him at the ground well beyond final whistle he might also miss part of the match itself.

Re: New WST Secretary and 2 new co opted board members
Will the board be explaining why they have favoured selecting their own preferred co-opted candidates rather than allowing members to vote for candidates? Seems like they are picking the board rather than allow members to pick a candidate who favours change. Another attempt to sure up their positions and block any revolts.

Re: New WST Secretary and 2 new co opted board members
It’s my understanding you can only be elected on to the club board at an agm by putting yourself forward. Where as it appears has been the case elected members resign prior to an agm the co opt positions are advertised for volunteers to put themselves forward. I’m unsure as to how many applicants they would have I suppose on par with the number who apply to join the WST at election time.....don’t really see the conspiracy theory as I assume there is a process to select the candidate based on skill set! Again I maybe wrong but I don’t believe co-opt members have a vote
