No one (including Keates) should underestimate the importance of a ball playing, hard tackling midfielder with stature.

The likes of Mike Lake, Scott Green and Walker last season proved that this is the most important position on the field. It sets the whole tempo of the team. The heartbeat if you like.

In the case of Lake and Green, both of those teams were struggling for consistency in mid table when they came in but we got promoted a few months later.

I wouldn't mind if we just pushed the boat out for this one player in January rather than lightweight and unfit wingers again

People still banging on about Scott Green who was already joining a great team that would have gone up anyway.

He was playing next to Ferguson FFS.

Be interesting to see where we were in the league with that 'great' (got to laugh at that) team when Green joined us ?

LOL.

We won our last 8 matches, which is why we went up. A team that was going up anyway, my arse.

The truth is we are a relegation threatened non league club.

(1) why would a league clubs loan us players especially young players entering a relegation fight.
(2) word gets around that this club is having problems from the board to manager levels who would want to join this circus?
(3) Forget about Green Ferguson etc they are all in the distant past when we were a football league club..we are now just a toy for want to be football managers, football club owners, and big I am directors.

Yeah I don't see the point in signing wingers, we had two potentially decent ones. One of them came on in our last game for a couple of minutes, got the ball down beat a player delivered a pinpoint cross to a strikers feet and we scored with our only chance of the game. Maybe we should try and do that more often instead of just smashing it 40 yards to no one all game...

Oh no wait, we'll just kick the lad that got the assist back to his club

Don't be surprised to see nobody come in, players are holding out to avoid coming here.
