The thing about trust in this case is who gets removed.

If only Keates and Davies were sacked we'd all know damn well it's just another smokescreen.

Darlington is the key.

Keates has been here for 3 months, players are putting in less effort, performing worse and we're no better in the league than when he took over and will probably end up worse off when Fylde play their games in hand.

The players clearly aren't playing for him, Keates himself is acting like a dead man walking by floundering in the press and standing their motionless on the touchline, the fans aren't behind him one bit. To survive it needs one big collective effort from everyone and there are deep divides between every possible section of the club.

Get Keates, Darlington & Davies out, raise the head of the players and fans, and get the board to announce resignations (either now or that they'll be resigning in the summer) or that they won't be standing for re-election and watch the place get a buzz back about it. Carrying on as we will kill us.
This. I'd be amazed if any of this happened though.

If we were going to do it, we would have done it by now and gave the new guy time to do something in the transfer window.

Darlington is the one, times up on that particular situation.

This is the same club whose manager wanted to resign, but they made him keep it secret and sign some shit players before leaving in February. It wouldn't surprise me if we sacked Keates on 1st Feb

Interestingly enough, he's in the states at the mo passing on his coaching expertise to USA-based graduates of the FAW training courses.

Maybe one of the MLS teams will offer him a job.

To survive we don't even need new players, just a competent manager, assistant and coach. Majority of this squad nearly won the league last season and finished 4th. A decent manager would get far more out of some of Hughes signings like Hooper and Redmond for example.

Its a myth that we need a cull or a lot of new players now.
Fans are only clutching at this because that's the only way they see being able to Keates escaping relegation. Fans have given up hope of him improving players and working with what he's got and the same goes for Pep Darlington.
The amount of players who've gone through Darlington's 'regime' and come out the other side broken and a worse player is staggering and damning.

I disagree.

Darlington needs to go, but the rot has set in with alot of these players and they need to go. Keates has to shoulder a large portion of the blame but the players shouldnt be getting off scot free either, no pride in their performances at all, even if they supposedly dont like the manager. I dont like making excuses for them.

Thats forgetting alot of the dross that dont get near the time as well.
