Most frustrating.......lainton needs to learn how to kick a ball to our players shocking distribution when kicking long.

Fully agree - personally I would replace both if possible

Pretty much agree with this although I would change Kennedy to a 5 and give Summerfield 6

Default Re: Chorley Ratings

Lainton (8) - Some very critical saves but let down by poor distribution.

Reid (7) - No mistakes and looked very good at times in the second-half.

Lawlor (7) - Most assured CB.

Pearson (6) - Quiet and slow.

Kennedy (6) - Looked off the pace.

Jennings (5) - Tries hard but very limited.

Summerfield (5) - Very industrious but gives the ball away too easily.

Redmond (6) - When he’s good he’s great, but needs to do it for 90 minutes.

Young (6) - Industrious but not dominant.

Grant (4) - Looks even slower alongside Hooper and Patrick.

Hooper (7) - Took his goals well. Not a natural target man but can hold the ball and bring others into play. More to come as he regains his fitness. He and Patrick would be too quick for most defences at this level.

Subs:

Patrick (7) Presume he is recovering from bug. Should start.

Rutherford (6) Industrious but limited.

PS Although Chorley were well dodgy at the back, I thought they knocked the ball about better than us, and were unlucky not to score.

It was a fantastic 3 points, but still more questions than answers.

PD - sorry but same mark for Young and Pearson. One industrious and constantly involved the other slower to turn than a super tanker

Can’t give Young any more, so cinque points for our ‘former captain’.
