Or even 5th off the bottom ? I would snatch your hand off it was offered to me now - that, unfortunately is the only target we can reasonably expect to hit - anymore will be a bonus.

People were going into meltdown on here when we lost at Sutton - but their recent form has been about the best in the whole league - even beating potential league leaders Yeovil last match out on Saturday.

In relation to Pearson many aspects of his game have changed - something is not right - every match he would be in the refs face challenging every decision - not saying I agreed with some aspects he portrayed but he did have enthusiasm which seems to have evaporated.

He was also an attacking threat from set pieces - good for a few goals each season - usually with his head from corners or free kicks - just doesn't look like he's going to get on the end of any at the moment.

Perhaps the inclusion of Kennedy in the middle and theoretically playing 5 across the back instead of the old four is not helping him - wing backs moving up and altering his game ?

Still wouldn't want to be without him though - perhaps a mirror of the whole team - on paper we should be much better in results and league standings but too many individuals are consistently underperforming.

The microscope is now turning on Lainton - for some time his kicking has been dreadful - for those yet to see it the situation came to a head with Maidenhead's second goal which he gave away on a plate - I feel it has been coming for some time and up until Saturday he got away with a few.

When I think back to my military days we had a saying “he doesn’t mind combat when there’s a loads of people with guns by him because even a pair of my wife’s pants can be brave if there’s some Christmas socks shooting the enemy”.

Pretty sure we can all agree it fits.
What a stupid saying.

Lawlor been poor, Pearson looks crocked every few games but keeps on going. But we didnt replace walker and didnt change shape to account for not having him there...thats the main reason for me our defence has been worse this season.

You are correct about Sutton they are top of the form table https://www.soccerstats.com/formtabl...eague=england5, just goes to show how teams can quickly grow in confidence, surprisingly we are 9th in the form table

I tend to agree. Playing under several different managers, playing in front of Dibble whilst all the time having to listen to Darlington's wonderful world of stats must take it's tole. One of the very few 'push the boat out' signings that have actually worked.

So on Boxing Day when he turned like a super tanker it was Darlingtons fault ?

But still ten times faster than the Chorley donkey (6) Meppen - Walter who we should have worked with fast ball to the floor and turned him inside out - hope Hooper and Patrick take note.

It was Dibble poor because Pearson was infront of him?

Makes You Think
