Contrast those with the comments on the relevant Fb page, from the lady's son, her brother, and from her fiancé:

Kalum Guest Thank you to all who helped my mum today, much appreciated by all her family, she would have been stuck without you, she’s improving as she should be! One last thing, Chorley may have a shit ground but there staff were amazing with my mum!

Andy Walters Thankyou to all who helped my sister today at the game the stewards police club doctor and officials were amazing as were the fans who helped her. My parents are not on this page but have asked me to thankyou all as well.
Also thanks to Kings Evans for giving up his seat on the wheelchair accessible minibus to enable Lucy's little lad Alfie to travel back with me.

Richie Daniels I would like to echo Andy Walters words a big thank you to everyone that helped Lucy today she is responding well and hopefully a speedy recovery & back supporting the town soon
Thanks once again everyone
Richie (Lucy's Fiancé)

Those three people were obviously in a much better position to see and appreciate what happened, and have heaped praise on all concerned. Doesn't it make you wonder why RP posters feel they have to be negative about everything? It must be a habit!
This is great news - I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

Access issues are massively important - just getting out of the away end at the final whistle took time - everyone standing around the pitch side and on the terrace behind the goal had no option but to use the one exit point which wasn't exactly very wide. Not sure where those in the seated areas got into & out of the stand - did they use the same exit gate ?

Looking at that main stand which I believe was built in the 1950's showed the first block nearest the away terrace to be out of action - from my position I couldn't make out if there was covering over the whole seating block or the seats were all removed - perhaps someone in the stand could shed light on this. I am assuming that the primary construction material of that stand due to it's age was mainly timber with some steel frame infrastructure.

The second block appeared to contain all our seat dwelling fans - access was limited and highlighted to be a problem in an emergency involving just one supporter. In the event of a fire could all those fans escape ? because all the ingredients are there for another Bradford Valley Parade disaster - a partially unoccupied stand, timber construction, elevated above ground level with narrow steps access - where do they keep their ground maintenance equipment, their fuel, when and how often are the electrics tested ? what else is stored under the stand ? Nobody thought Valley Parade could go up in flames, you have to always question could it ever happen again ? well not with new modern recently constructed stands of which many have been constructed over the last 20 years - but some have not moved with the times have they.

Stand was built of steel and floor was concrete - therefore no chance anything like Bradford.

Seats were timber and the block nearest the away end was out of action / looked as if seats were in disrepair to me. One narrow egress route to front of stand - 1 person wide. Exit through same point as other standing away supporters.

Think people are barking up the wrong trees if they think it was unsafe as wouldn’t get a certificate.

But it was a very basic set up

Valley Parade had a stadium safety certificate - so did Hillsboro - some people in authority thought Grenfell Towers was safe for people to live in - at Prenton Park a few seasons back they put our supporters in with rows of rusting broken metal seat frames - we should never ever stop questioning things and challenging what looks wrong and unsafe.

If the Chorley main stand structure / floor is concrete and not wooden then that will take much of the concern away - historically problems often occur in relation to safety when an old outdated structure which is normally subject to low levels of use / stress is suddenly subjected to high useage hence my earlier point - the stadium / stand no doubt copes quite easily when little southern based clubs visit with 50 supporters on a Tuesday night - then we turn up.

RL - not looking to pick a fight just wanted to point out it wasn’t built the same way as Bradford stand. It is a very old stand.

Cracking post of truths and jumping to conclusions although well meaning by some fans.
