I spoke to Brian who I have known for over 40 years and he said he would be willing to help.

But a club director wrote to me and said it was all under control and under the stewardship of Phil. He also suggested I was interfering, had no authority to make such suggestions and my actions had created a potential embarrassment for the club. All of which fairly stunned me.

So I just left it there.
Can't say I'm surprised. Brian has a good reputation as an architect but the platform design and the technical aspects are quite basic if you follow the regulations.
I offered my services FOC but Phil had already got the basic design and the structural calcs done.

Are you making excuses for disgracefully rude comments by a WAFC Director??

Shocking. Absolutely shocking.

Am not wishing to create any more problems for the club (they have enough to deal with already) so do not want to share in public which club director it was who sent the email.

But I did feel incredibly upset by it. Bearing in mind it was the same director who had happily accepted the £5,000 that my family donated to the club just a few years earlier to set up a club youth award in my fathers name.

Really sorry to hear that.

It isn't his club, nor mine, it is yours and ours and everyone is a custodian of it.

This is the big problem with so-called fans ownership.... it needs a leader and then management below it. All of which should be accountable.

There is no real leader and no real management below. Spencer is the closest we have to a leader from what I can see on the outside but it isn’t working. It’s all done for “a few hours in the evening”. Hobby farming whilst destroying the statue of the club. Every bad decision is hidden away and soon forgotten.

I fail to see any real positive steps the club has made being fans owned. We are edging closer and closer to part time, we train on a council field and play in a crumbling ground that is costing more and more to maintain.

Ironic for someone on the board ro accuse someone else of creating an embarrassment for the club

You are seeing that literally, my point was wider, Hamilton and Moss were custodians of the club.

It is like librarians, some will want to dish out 10p late fines and shush you at any point. Others will point you towards an unknown good book and help out.

Staggeringly rude, but barely surprising. It definitely seems like certain directors just want fans to hand over their money and shut up.
