Default Training?

Been down to the 9 acre yet again today and its plainly obvious that Keates is having little say with what goes on . Why is it our 9ne day wonder coach is held is such high regard ?

Yes. Looked like an 11 a side game with the starting xi from chorley (aside from Lainton) against the rest. Keates on the sideline with a bloke who I thought was Spencer Harris. Instructions given from Darlington

Default Re: Training?

Who do people expect to lead the training ?
The manager or the coach ?
Could this be how it works ?
Manager and coach discuss training requirements and tactics for tomorrows match - manager takes a backward step and leaves coaching to the coach and his assistants.
Does the manager need to be there in person all the time ?
Perhaps he's at the club on the phone trying to bring in reinforcements and offload the deadwood - who knows ?

If Keates was running the training then the spin would be "why isn't the coach coaching?".

Laughable.

Id have no problem with this if we had a fulltime coach who actually gets the players playing decent football.

Default Re: Training?

Just to add some information regarding Pearson as the thread on him was closed.

It was suggested he was injured in the pre match warm up at Chorley - he was initially named on the teamsheet so that must be true.

Keates said in his post match interview that he had been contacted early that morning by Pearson complaining of a sore back sustained the week before at Maidenhead.

Wonder if this all goes back to last season when he injured his back in a goal celebration where other players jumped all over him from behind - back injuries can be long term in fact a significant weakness could be permanent.

Will he be back tomorrow in contention for a place and will Summerfield be back from illness - any sign of either on the training pitch ?
