Interestingly Keates said in his post match interview that the players need to recognise when to take a touch to bring it down and play through the thirds rather than playing long all the time. So if Keates has recognised this why are the players not responding? Are they simply not good enough or is Keates not getting his point across or do our defenders know that are midfielders are too weak so its better to get the ball as far away as possible?

Disingenuous from Keates.

When he was last here it was hoof-and-hope. The players aren't pulling this out of thin air.

A fan I spoke to at the end of the game said he had spoken to either Rutherford or Oswell about this, and they had confirmed that the game-plan was to put balls over their FBs and into the channels for Hooper and Patrick to run on to.

That rarely happened. Either Aldershot were so good they negated the plan -- seems unlikely -- or our players either ignored the game-plan or simply weren't good enough to carry it out. Unsure which!

Either way, it was a shambles, with lots of other deficiencies in our play: number one being we seem to have no one with the confidence or ability to run at defences from midfield to make their defenders commit, and hence open up spaces. Everything was too slow, cumbersome and mostly sideways.

Furthermore, we seem incapable of changing tactics when it goes to rat-shit or we leave the subs too late eg why wasn't Harris and Oswell brought on earlier?

Why didn't the pr*ck try and communicate that to his players whilst the game was taking place right in front of him. Instead he just stands there looking lost.

Does abnybody know what the short, medium and long term plans are of the WST Board and the WFC Board?
In three months time we may have been relegated to the NLN. Is there a plan in place for this eventuality? Will we go part time? How will we survive with gates of 2000? Will we manage to sell more than 1000 season tickets? What will these tickets cost? How will we pay the rent for the Racecourse?
So does anyone out there know what the direction of the club is ( besides downwards ) Is there any cause for optimism from any of the plans / direction of the club?

But according to the board we can still make the playoffs.

I imagine they are having to discuss it now. On a side note are there nay full time teams in the NLN?

Keates passing the book instead of getting players to pass the ball, the problem is we have to many ball watchers, nobody looks for space to run into so the player in possession at the back has no outlet hence the sideways backwards sideways, on top of that the midfield couldn't pass wind.

Why on Saturday was Hooper more or less on his own upfront a guy very easy to mark, he cannot head a ball, infact his feet never leave the ground, it's ok Keates blaming the players but leadership come from the top, another thing why only use 2 subs Saturday with Redmond a passenger?

No Keates make as many excuses as he likes he was a failure at Walsall took his Hometown club to relegation sacked. He will take us down and get a contract extension here.
