If the board had any sense they would be at the training ground Monday to speak to the players and somehow try and clear the air.. What happend today was unacceptable by any standard.
Agreed ,, there is very little team spirit,, Spencer alluded to this in his comments on chemistry within the team

Thanks Bryan and Spencer

He was the only player that was up for the fight, the rest were half arsed.
Motivation is the issue, we looked a beaten side first 20 minutes.
Keates doesn’t come across as a motivating type manager which has surprised
me
I’m so angry and hurt about yesterday, the board need to do the honourable thing and walk, their mistakes have got us in the mess.

Although we have an underperforming squad of players there should be enough ability there to avoid the drop but, clearly, something has gone wrong. Keates was appointed by the Board in a romantic hope he would correct those issues and we would then regroup for next season. Keates has not brought about said recovery, and I would argue he has worsened the situation.

We lack a ‘hard-nosed bastard’ to kick the arses of our players and get in the faces of our opponents. Although we have weaknesses everywhere, our two main priorities must be a midfield general and a targetman who can win headers and hold the ball up to bring in others.

Keates has said he is bringing in 2 new players soon. We will then see if he addresses these problems or whether he is truly clueless. I fear it is the latter based on the fact he has continued to play Grant — he is not making any positive influence and will be on a big salary — and he then compounds the stupidity by promoting the hapless Jennings to captain when he clearly has no leadership qualities.

I know QR will probably disagree but I do not think 3-5-2 helps because we have no wing-backs. KISS and revert back to Flynn’s old 4-4-2 formation with one winger (Patrick) and incorporate those missing new players.

Finally, whilst the players have escaped lightly, but so too have the WST, Board and management team. However, we cannot afford to piss off all the players because they are our only hope of getting out of this mess and give us some breathing space to regroup. That needs leadership: something we lack across the pisté. Something that must be addressed now!

Ricketts brought a professional approach , he had a proper assistant manager alongside him and an experienced goalkeeping coach.

Keates, Davies, Darlington and Oakes are a management team for the level we are heading. A level which matches the standard of training facilities we have .

The training facilities are not ideal but the problem lies with the management team and players. In the 1970s we trained on the car-park behind the Yale Stand and did OK.

Yes, we need a better training facility but there are other priorities that need addressing first.

Finally, do we need a training facility in Wrexham if most players live in Liverpool or Manchester. Barrow seem to have adopted some good principles that are paying off. We need to think before we act.

Hughes policy of recruiting players from afar was odd

Hooper, chambers , JBB , Macintosh, Harris

More chance of players being unsettled, plenty of talent on our doorstep,, not least Scott Quigley from Oswestry

Same for me and acted more like a Captain than our Captain - of course Lainton in goal made a few good saves to be fair.....

They would all still pick up another Conference club next season though, that’s how it is. No wonder they don’t care.

There was more team spirit under Hughes.

We were crap no doubt, but Keates has been here for three months and made things more toxic than they ever were under Hughes.
