in what has become our version of a fan owned model is beyond doubt the cause of our current position, everything else is a symptom of what the wst/board have become.
there is clearly a political motivation both in the powers that be and their closest allies/supporters, the idea of a "community" or "society" appeals to those of a left bias, and i do not really have a problem with that anyone can follow what the hell they like, that is democracy, however the group that now run our club and especially its supporters can only be likened as being momentum like, only wanting their way and only incorporating like minded individuals, the problem with that is a lack of business creativity and acumen, this is precisely why our club has faded year by year and it was always going to, we can replace the entire board etc but it will degenerate into a failed social project every time until we get suitable proven businmess people at the helm

To be eligible to be voted onto the board you have to have been a member in good standing for at least 90 days. The AGM will be in June and so, if you want to elect a current non-member, then he or she had better join by the end of February.

Apart from new board members, the first task will be to amend Rule 27 so that it does not bar members from amending Rule 28 (which lists all the powers of the Board). We need that change made first. My research shows that approximately 1,000 members vote in the election ballots but only 300 - 400 vote on amendments and resolutions. You must give 30 days notice of a call for an EGM and the agenda and resolutions must be included in the call. Even now, we can't call an EGM to take place before DK has spent his new found warchest.

We can only hope that we survive this season and can find the support to make changes at the AGM in June.

There will be a meaningless Club AGM earlier, but there are no elections or motions from the floor, so hardly worth attending.

I get the impression that a lot of the people on the threads wanting private membership or change in board, staff, manager are not even members of the trust who have to sanction any major change in direction. If that is the case I cannot support those who have no say over such a directional change for the club and I suspect are not prepared to be actively involved in the running of the clubs affairs in any event. It is OK saying that there have been approaches to invest but there is no proof of anything. And if there had been how has that been kept so quiet from the fans when so many other less important things have been leaked out. It just doesn't add up.

So regardless if what people are asking for is sensible, you will not listen as they are not members. That's like the Corbynistas not giving the views of those on the doorstep any credibility because they are not Momentum members. WST board worshipping at its finest.

The problem is, there’s so much trust been lost that it feels pointless rejoining. As I’ve mentioned before, I was calling for 100% fans ownership back when the Trust were cheering on Dickens and Moss. I was still calling for it when some current huge fans of the board were claiming I was transphobic for not wanting Booth in charge.

But back when I was calling for it I naively thought we’d have a board who listened to the members. We now have a board who aren’t following through on the second platform, as voted for by members. There are claims that they’re not doing the shadowing, as voted for by members. In the Q and A, I asked them if they were doing this and they didn’t answer. I’m unconvinced we can ever get rid of someone like Spencer Harris because as far as I can see if he was voted off the WST board then he could just be co-opted back onto the Trust board. Again, I asked them if this was a possibility; they didn’t answer.

So what’s the point in rejoining and hoping for a change in direction from the board? As far as I can see, they do what they want.
