Right back to Saturday.

We were completely over run first half and could not have complained if we had been 0 - 4 down - some credit to Lainton but more down to very poor finishing by Aldershot who with some composure should have put the game out of reach,

That was surely the wake up call and half time was the time to make drastic changes - the game was so one sided.

Formation should have been changed - we had Young on his own against four midfielders who were running us ragged at will and picking up every loose ball - if personnel needed changing to add weight to the midfield then so be it.

To do nothing only brought on the inevitable.

If we add the greatest open goal miss of all time together with the run through and 'goal' which was ruled off for offside it could have been another 4 goals - so at least 8 top notch chances put on a plate throughout the match - the fact that Shots only netted twice is as bewildering as why we didn't make drastic half time changes.

The eventual scoreline separating the teams by just one goal didn't reflect how one sided the game was - but regardless of personnel if a team bypasses midfield, sits so deep and invites pressure then eventually it will collapse - we haven't got the quality to deploy wingbacks - biggest culprit Jennings - look at the first half and every big chance for Shots came down their right flank - Jennings was repeatedly massively out of position and did nothing with the ball when he got it.
After Saturdays display why should they be given a day off? Any manager worth there salt would have them in training after that display. Hell I would have had them in yesterday just to watch the match again on video and start asking them why there were doing what they where.

As for your point about it being a wake up call I agree. We have played relegation threatened sides over the Xmas period. If we play against a side who can finish or are half decent we will get an absolute hiding. Barrow put 7 past someone on Saturday and I fear we are due a result like that very soon.

I can vouch none of squad or management where in Total Fitness this morning / lunch time.
Can Spencer confirm that if one of his shifts turns up and do next to nothing and in the process stop the production line causing Kelloggs to lose money the shift management and shop floor are rewarded with a couple of days off with pay. THOUGHT NOT

Don't we use Carden Park to train sometimes? If they weren't in the gym and not on the school field you'd hope that's where they were...

You have to have some structure in the system at any club - I don't know what the system at Wrexham is - does anyone ?
Win lose or draw - players will have days off - assuming it's Sunday & Monday as we have no mid week match and no league match for a fortnight.
There will have to be some balance - expected days off with family who already forfeit their Saturday's week in week out and every bank holiday.
But please don't shoot the messenger - I am just trying to put a point across that players of all clubs will have days off - it wont be any use flogging them to death every day of every week BUT you would like to think that when they are training on the other days there is significant structure and organisation - by Saturday's performance you have to wonder what goes on behind the scenes as the team looked like a bunch of strangers.

I would reiterate that on Saturday it was a difference of formation that hurt us - Aldershot revelled in their set up and the players felt comfortable - we were a polar opposite - playing with no confidence and no midfield - and yet still we did nothing to change it at half time when we had simply been outplayed.

What's going on full stop?

Someone who isn't working and with a pair of bollocks, should go down to total fitness or 9acre and ask if any player would mind talking anonymously about the current situation.

What is going on at the club?
What / who is the problem?

We already know the board are blindly killing the club from above, but something is rotten to the core on the playing side of things.
Why can other teams perform even when they're not even getting paid ffs?

Journalists used to do this sort of thing.

Been using The Rock a lot lately, still can't string passes together on a plastic pitch though...

The fella seen with Keates the other day was Seamus Heath.

I think the board have little influence on playing matters , but do have responsibility for appointing the management team.
There is no doubt that recent appointments have been poor and if one of the objectives is to keep the cost down then it will blow up in their faces.
