That really wasn’t difficult when we had a lamp post as our main striker in that team.

The same hunt that would spend 30 mins at a time not touching the ball. It really does amaze me he’s played in the football league.

Joe Clarke wasn't a particularly good player but he did have one purple patch when he was about the only player in the squad playing well, in Morrells last season.

Keates is a dead man walking here. The fans don't want or like him and the players aren't really playing for him. There's only ever one outcome when it gets like that. It may not happen soon but its inevitable.
The only thing to delay the inevitable is the board not wanting to admit to making yet another in their long list of managerial disasters

Relegation is looming, a new face is needed to try and lift the players.

I see it now as the boards mistakes have cost money overall which to them doesn’t affect their own pockets, that’s why nobody is learning but continuing the same mistakes.

If a board vote took place over Hughes, how long is too long with Keates the dithering costs more in the long run but also being ruthless can cause similar damage.

The poor appointments, pay offs and apparently managers walking out for the peanuts offered in wages if the board added up every sacking payoff they could of just made a quality appointment. Buy cheap and you buy twice or in this boards case 5 in two years was it!

Fair to say most people want ‘real change’.
And with this being a fans owned club I guess those changes are made on a democratic basis at the AGM.
So with that in mind it would be great if we could have a pinned thread that explains the process. I don’t quite understand it myself, reading rp it sounds like firstly you must be a wst member before end February to enable you to vote at agm in May. I’m lost with how the resolutions work, can we vote people off the board? change rules? I’m thinking just a factual explanation of the process pinned would be perfect, rather than a thread that turns into a massive free for all. Is that possible, and could someone help with that?

He never hid but was probably technically more conference north. Genuinely liked the bloke and remember a screamer he scored but age prevents me from recalling the opposition

He was good in the 12-13 season, our best player in the playoff final too as I recall.

I was reading an article on BBC Sport about Chris Wilder, and it this snippet seems to be a big bit of what we've been missing with Hughes and Keates, I think we were getting there with Ricketts before he left.

**Targeting a return to League Two, Oxford were struggling when Wilder came in.

"Training-wise the intensity increased and there was a lot more of an emphasis on winning. There were always games and there'd be races on a Friday," says James Constable, who was on loan from Shrewsbury Town at the time.

"Everybody wanted to win at everything they were doing and that little tweak in our mentality slowly soaked in. That's how we continued for the rest of the season. I think we only lost a couple of games for the remainder of the year. Unfortunately, we missed out on the play-offs because of a points deduction."

A peripheral figure at his parent club, Constable was signed permanently and became the focal point of the team, scoring 22 goals as Oxford went up through the play-offs. As they established themselves in League Two, Wilder's thoroughness and eye for detail increasingly stood out.

"The analysis with DVDs and clips increased to a level I hadn't been used to before. We were getting a pack on a match day of five or six pages with our set plays and their set plays. Things to think about. Their positives and negatives.

"On the Friday we'd get to see for ourselves what they did on set plays so going out there we'd covered every base. All the excuses were taken away and it was over to us to make sure we carried out what we'd worked on."**

Pretty sure there's a few pointers the club could do with out of a little article.

Don't forget Ricketts inherited a solid spine of a team and an increased budget, compared to what Keates picked up. Also remember DK had signed the meanest back four in the league on 2 year deals and this gave Rickets something to build on. I can't remember his exact words but he said something like 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' and he would be looking to get us more progressive with the players he brought in.
