Classy.
That’s normal in football, the kiss of death support to a manager from the board when the team is underperforming.

Not that anything else is normal from our club hierarchy

What isn’t normal is our director piping up to radio presenters and calling them “sensationalist” when they ask about having five managers in a year.

Yep,

I've supported the WST and fans ownership for long enough but when a club's business model is obviously failing from a football perspective and experiencing a dangerous downward spiral, then you need to identify what and who is causing the car crash.

10 managers in 10 years is entirely relevant to the car crash. It's like a head on pile up on a motorway. Considering that we only had 10 managers in 40 years between 1960 and 2000, during our club's most successful period in our history.

A culture of sacking managers indicates a culture of failing on the pitch and not making the right appointments. Managers do not appoint or sack themselves. If you appoint a good manager and they voluntarily leave that indicates they do not hold genuine passion to see the club succeed or they do not feel the club has serious ambition.

A fans owned club will always be a great challenge to succeed as it needs greater accountability and transparency, coupled with considerable finance and investment, funded by a wide reaching revenue stream. There are no guarantees in football so lower league clubs will always need significant wedges of money to compete and replenish the money you will always lose in pursuit of ambition and progress. It requires risk taking and investors prepared to lose money. Relegation is not a sustainable football model.

A fans owned club also needs a united fan base to succeed. That requires leadership from top to bottom with leaders who the fans positively embrace and not hold negative feelings towards.

Our fans following and attendances have been truly incredible considering the downward spiral over recent decades. It just shows the potential of our club if the right people are involved in its governance and stewardship.

I personally don't have any concern with volunteers per se running our club, in the sense that during our clubs greatest period of success the board members were all unpaid volunteers. The issue is about having the best people appointed in those positions with an open minded culture. Having two different boards (WST) and (WAFC) with several people sitting on both boards is in my view a huge error in strategy.

The original dual boards structure suggested by Supporters Direct is clearly not the right one for our club. It's worth considering that Supporters Direct as an independent entity no longer even exists and has merged with the Football Supporters Federation to create the Football Supporters Association. https://thefsa.org.uk

It also shows that sometimes simplicity (2 becomes 1) is an intelligent strategy to streamline an organisations' focus and action to deliver the best results.

'He hasn’t given a match interview he’s gone to the local press himself in his own time! Here’s the proof for you!! He’s very subtle in his words but says “REAL change” is needed!! Swapping Bryan Hughes for Keates wasn’t “REAL” change!! Players want him out'

'F*ck me, he literally says 3 or 4 times “ the summer will give the gaffer time to sign players” if you knew anything about our football club the real big change will be The board not the manager'

'And who will “the gaffer” be? Why isn’t the statement from Shaun that we need to sign quality players now? Read back my tweets John Mills will be resigning from the club who is one of the two main decision makers!! Perhaps the key decision maker! Spencer is just the front'

Bingo across the piste.

We have a fundamentally flawed constitution/set-up, made worse by some folk on the board who, for whatever reasons, have made some very poor decisions.

The WST Chairman must be accountable to its members, and the Wrexham AFC directors accountable to the chairman.

Identify a good prospect of a manager, then give him the support and resources to achieve his defined goal ie get us back into the FL asap.

KISS! (Keep it simple, stupid), albeit WK is anything but stupid!
