If you compare Oswells scoring record to the names being mentioned, then you can see we already have the answer here amongst us, his heading is second to none, with the correct service, confidence, support and encouragement he can fire us to safety, otherwise he will do it elsewhere else while you lot blame our coach for not getting the best out of him

quoting other players scoring records while not looking at the ones already here

the football knowledge on this board is almost zero, an embarrassment to our club

Hahahaha, lay off the spice Graham.

I’ve asked you previously to actually look at his record which suggests he’s a Welsh Premier player at best. He has been awful when given game time for us, regardless of formation.

We don't really know how good or bad Oswell is because since he joined he's barely played for one reason or another. Has to go down as a failure of a signing. A shame because he does offer something different to what we have.

The question for me is have you actually looked at his record ? Grant has 7 goals in 27 starts Oswell has 2 in 5. I stick to my opinion that he has been managed badly/had some bad luck with injuries and I find the stats rather inconclusive.

Comparing the success and contribution of a player against Bobby Grant, just goes to show how low we have let our standards slip. I really want Oswell to do well. I saw him outside the ground recently and he does look like a footballer, but that's were the comparisons stop.
On the pitch, its true that he hasn't had an extended run in the team, but he looks too lightweight to me. Chris Holyroyd on steroids? He is NOT a target man as he doesn't have the bulk to compete with centre backs. I wouldn't say that he was fast either. For me, he is a compromise that hasn't worked, or been allowed to.

Oswell goals reel for Stockport tells you everything you need to know. He needs crosses and service. He seemed to thrive from crosses. We don't do that here hence why EVERY striker struggles here.
Whether he's actually good enough or not is still up for debate for me.

Is he worth starting ahead of Bobby The Undroppable Grant? Absolutely.

Comparing him to current team members is all that makes sense to me at least. The more important stat is 27 starts against 5 which is why i suggest that the stats are inconclusive. The bulk comment i just don't get as i can quote many good strikers who had little or no bulk. I actually think he has held the ball up quite well when asked but its all about opinions. Rhys Murphy is just 6 foot and of relatively slight build but was the best CF I have seen at the racecourse this season at least.

So he’s less than a year away from an operation which it takes years to heal from, but you think we should rely on him to keep us up? Do you even read your own posts back to see if they make any sense?

Harsh Jaded. I think he's doing well to be able to turn the computer on to start with.

This is it. Oswell and Hooper as a 2 you'd think would be a potentially good combination but we'd need players with the ability to put decent crosses in for Oswell to be effective. Not Rutherfords scooped slow balls or long punts down the middle. When he has played he's been expected to compete for high balls and flick it on. That's not his game. We should have signed some big lump like Denton or Mark Beck if we wanted that.

Harris put in a good cross for Hooper goal versus Aldershot. Oh wait he's been sent back to Cardiff.
