Maybe he needs to relax a bit. The club is supposed to be inclusive. The game itself is supposed to be working class sport. It's not a FTSE 500 boardroom. The world has moved on and people can dress smart without a tie. Surely it's better building relationships with other clubs than being petty.

Do I have to wear a tie to watch Wrexham now. If so I will have to buy a new one because the one have got is to tight, I have put a bit of weight on.

Can't confirm the specifics of this claim but Spencer was definitely talking to match day host stewards about boardroom tie policy prior to the game.

If true, it’s ironic how he won’t let the standards of boardroom attire slip, yet he’s willing to let the standards for the football side of things go to the wall.

At that time children were not allowed in the Board Room and Sir Alex walked in with with one of his grandchildren. He did not have a problem with the request and took the child into another room.
I believe the present Directors have remove that rule.

For some reason Dave just seems to talk nonsense.Ballistic ?

An Aldershot Director did turn up in Jeans and with no tie. He was met by Spencer who went down to the Club Shop to get him a Club Tie .He then welcomed him into the Boardroom , telling the Door man that it was fine even though he had jeans on and continued to look after him before and after the match until he left .

How do i know these facts because i was there and witnessed it.

I heard a director from a rival team walked into the boardroom wearing a tie fastener. Spencer said to him: “We don’t like your tie pin here”.
