Great player for us, huge shame for the lad himself. Hope he does well in whatever he does next. Certainly wouldn't begrudge him a pre-season Testimonial if it would make him a few quid.

Not a huge surprise, given the amount of time he's already been out but still really sad to have it confirmed and obviously much more devastating for Manny himself. I wish him all the best. Could he do much worse than Keates as manager. Our Eddie Howe. Quiet, yet a sense of control and respect there. Maybe not the thread for that kind of talk but regardless, a damn good CB and a seemingly humble guy. Shame it had to end for him like this but hopefully he has a bond with the club that a large number of fans developed for him over the 2 spells.

Keeping it a secret wasn't a good move, but giving Manny the contract extention was.

Didn't he play Vs Eastleigh after he signed the contract? If so then clearly there was belief rather then just hope that he could/would get back to his best. Regardless I think it was the right thing to do to support such a player as much as we possibly could in trying to get right, I wouldn't like us to be the type of club that would cut our losses at the earliest opportunity (Bonus if some or all of it was covered by insurance.)

Anyway, always seems a great guy and pro and obviously a top player for us....behind Pearson and Creighton in terms of overall influence for me but on a par with NKP for talent.

Anyway Manny was one of the best players we've had here in non league, him and Pearson together worked really well although Manny was the better player in my view and Pearson had the mouth and leadership. He never really looked troubled or under pressure which is the sign of a good defender.

I'm gutted for him. Hopefully he has other interests and can quickly move onto something else. Wish him all the best.
