Default Manny Smith retires

https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/st...nal-footballer

"Sadly, Wrexham AFC must confirm that Manny Smith has been forced in to early retirement as a professional footballer having been unable to overcome a serious knee injury, his contract at the club has been cancelled."

"“I would like to thank the fans and everyone at Wrexham AFC for supporting me throughout my time at the club. As with anything, its had its ups and downs, but luckily for me there's been far more ups than downs.”

Sad news I didn’t realise he was still at the club, did he sign a new contract?

Sad news, thanks for everything Manny. Great player in his prime.

Any chance of some good news?

Very sad news, all the very best to you . Pity you weren't coming in to the club for the very first time today, always up for the fight.

Very good player with a strong leader with him.

Seems strange that he couldn’t recover. Is the club to blame, did we give him the best treatment we could in his recovery?

Considering how we do everything on the cheap and have university students attempting to diagnose injuries I highly doubt this.

What a centre half he was. I remember how he made many eat humble pie after him being judged before he even kicked a ball for us. Was a pleasure to watch him in a red shirt, was a class act.
