Is it just one win though? After Hughes, it was always going to be a tough couple of months for any new manager. People want to sack managers all the time but if new guy does not work out with the players they inherit, they will be shot down, especially in this golden age of social media and football forums.

Currently 7th in current form table over last 8 matches with 5 wins and 3 defeats. Start getting a couple of draws / wins away from home then the Hughes nightmare will be forgotten and we can push on.

I always expected a reaction after the Aldershot disgrace.

I think we need to look at how we do over the next five games before we decide how effective Keates ball is. Our away form is diabolical and needs addressing ASAP. Harrogate is a massive challenge and right now I'd be happy if we could go there and get a point.

Baby steps......

We played well Saturday but Harrogate is a different proposition.

Some on here are really getting carried away. Jarvis looked good and summerfield played well Saturday. Let’s see if they can continue that against Harrogate!

One decent performance against a poor midtable side and the dreamboats think we are suddenly going to be great... Just a reminder Patrick has gone back to Bradford, we have a lazy arse who cannot challenge for a header as our lone striker, a team who's away form is dire to put it mildly, let us know when you touch down on earth.

Harsh on Hooper
You try winning a header against a 6ft 6 defender

He won quite a few headers on Saturday and on another day would have bagged at least one goal other than for a very good save

Let’s get Simon Ainge back

Be thankful for what we’ve got

Change can take place over the summer - we’ve had 12 years of that

Great to see a response to that Aldershot debacle.

However, as others have said, it is only one game. For me, Saturday will be the big test - come away from Harrogate with at least a draw and I will start feeling more confident about our chances of avoiding the drop.
With games against Dagenham and Chesterfield up next (Games we simply have to win IMO) it is imperative we start to build some consistent form.

Yes I posted on another thread that Hooper needs the ball played into feet, that certainly wasn’t the case on Saturday!

A good win but the following month or so may bring us quickly back down to earth.

We're playing 2/3/4th away which is three nailed on defeats. Plus Chesterfield who are in the relegation scrap and on a roll since sacking John Sheridan.

Gotta win home games v Dagenham & Redbridge and Torquay. Both are winnable.
