It was actually Danny Coyne who encouraged him to apply having heard first hand about what was going on at Wrexham. Coyne and Ricketts had a touchline bust up and things were never the same. Last edited by GiggityGiggityGiggityGoo; 27th January 2020 at 21.56:16.. |

Shrewsbury were strong in telling him to honour his contract and that he wasn't leaving until the job was done. Didn't work out, but that the difference between both clubs. |

Re: Ricketts Watch
Hursts behaviours at the end was disgraceful. Ricketts wanted to take charge of the Newport game and was told not to wasn't he?
The way Keates left was unfortunate but I have no animosity toward Ricketts. And if half the stuff people say about how the club is run is true then can people really blame and ambitious young manager for leaving that situation? And it's not like he went to a club at our level, it was a great opportunity for him and one he probably didn't imagine would have come so early. It's their job, and if your place of work has a poisonous work environment and you get offered a better job who here would turn it down? |

Don't disagree with any of this except for the Keates leaving excuse of unfortunate. No it was lack of loyalty to a club who gave him his managerial chance when in a promotion position with 8 games left home club or not, I also blame the board for letting them talk to him no other club in that position would. Re: Ricketts Watch
Ricketts won only 6 of his 26 league games after he took over. 28 points. Terrible. Not much better this year.
Shrewsbury as a club are set up to be challenging in that league. They are underachieving under him. He might have brought some professionalism to our set up, but I think he's very limited when it comes to tactics. |
