Hurst finished the season and was made too, completely different.

It was actually Danny Coyne who encouraged him to apply having heard first hand about what was going on at Wrexham. Coyne and Ricketts had a touchline bust up and things were never the same.

What happened next John Askey was given a 3 year contract along with assistants John Filan and George Pilkington (Sound familiar??). Within 6 months they were sacked and received a substantial payoff.

Danny Coyne then took over and won 6 games (including 2 league 2 FA cup and 2 Checkatrade trophy) The fans and the board wanted him to take the job permanently but he didn't want it as he wanted to remain as coach.

The next manager was the snake Ricketts who had been persuaded by his old Welsh colleague Dave Edwards to go for the job as Edwards was desperate to get back to his boyhood club. Not long after Danny Coyne was sacked - to the disgust of many fans.

Not quite the "well run" club you are suggesting
Ridiculous comparison. Hurst had the decency to finish the season and didn't walk out on them with games to go. Try again

Hurst tried everything to leave, packed his things days before the play off finals and made a big scene of it all.

Shrewsbury were strong in telling him to honour his contract and that he wasn't leaving until the job was done. Didn't work out, but that the difference between both clubs.

Hursts behaviours at the end was disgraceful. Ricketts wanted to take charge of the Newport game and was told not to wasn't he?

The way Keates left was unfortunate but I have no animosity toward Ricketts. And if half the stuff people say about how the club is run is true then can people really blame and ambitious young manager for leaving that situation? And it's not like he went to a club at our level, it was a great opportunity for him and one he probably didn't imagine would have come so early.

It's their job, and if your place of work has a poisonous work environment and you get offered a better job who here would turn it down?

Don't disagree with any of this except for the Keates leaving excuse of unfortunate. No it was lack of loyalty to a club who gave him his managerial chance when in a promotion position with 8 games left home club or not, I also blame the board for letting them talk to him no other club in that position would.

Surprised no ones mentioned - CUMDOG (Jason Cummings )

Scorer of the 2 goals , looks an astute signing by SR

Ricketts won only 6 of his 26 league games after he took over. 28 points. Terrible. Not much better this year.
Shrewsbury as a club are set up to be challenging in that league. They are underachieving under him. He might have brought some professionalism to our set up, but I think he's very limited when it comes to tactics.

SR talks well but in fairness he inherited the meanest defence in the league when he came here and a budget to add offensively, but it's all about the breaks in football and this cup success regardless of league standings is going to propel him into a few chairman's thoughts.

Don't bring any facts into the argument.
