Run In -good or bad?
Just been looking at the run in. We have yet to play 14 games. This includes 5 teams currently in the top six, 10 teams currently placed higher than us, and just 3 teams currently lower than us.
Seems daunting but, with some exceptions, we generally play better against higher placed teams so I am quite hopeful. The 3 banana skins are Dagenham and Redbridge, Chesterfield and Eastleigh. I feel confident we will pull away from those around about us and at least end up in the top half of the table and maybe in the top 10. |
Re: Run In -good or bad?
As bad as this team have been this season anyone can beat anyone this season. If we can go away to Harrogate and beat them 2 nil there is noone we should worry about if we approach games in the right manner.
The Dagenham and Chesterfield games are huge. Win those and we will go a long way to be safe. |
Re: Run In -good or bad?
I'd say if we take 4 points from the next 2 games, we'll be very close to safety

Re: Run In -good or bad?
Said on the radio Saturday, our record against the current top 8 is P10 W5 D5 L0.
I think 5 wins, starting with D&R, sees us safe. |
Re: Run In -good or bad?
Nothing to panic about. Wxm heading to a mid table or higher position, more by luck than good judgment but who cares.
Onwards and upwards. |
Re: Run In -good or bad?
Irony is that mid table or higher will be so close to 7th and the play offs!

Re: Run In -good or bad?
We've been great against the top teams. Pity we've been shit against the teams down the bottom.

Re: Run In -good or bad?
If we can win at an inform Harrogate nothing should daunt us.
The run in is tough - two of the last three games are away from home. Although we have picked up some good points recently we are far from safe - it's very tight at the bottom end and we have played two games more than most - for me Chorley and Ebbsfleet are now cast adrift - all signs suggest we have now turned the corner, the slide has been halted and Keates has made enough changes to the playing personnel to turn the tide - in addition to bringing new faces in it might just be as much about omitting others. That performance at Harrogate against a bang in form team on their own artificial pitch was no doubt the best of the season. It wasn't as though Harrogate played poorly as highlighted by their own manager who claimed they played really well. |

Onwards and upwards.[/QUOTE] What an odd comment. I think we should care and be very concerned that we're achieving mid table by luck |
