A fantastic day! We took a LOT of fans.

Going one nil up was amazing, looking up and seeing the score board.

Gareth Owen had his work cut out in midfield, he was up against Ince and Keane.

Amused me when the OT crowd clapped the Wrexham fans as they thought we were singing Eric Cantona not Where's ya Cantona?? Saw King Eric play several times and man what a player. United 0 Wrexham 1 will never be forgotten.

Just thinking that.

Due to the difference in League and FA rules on tickets our 6,000 plus away support was the largest and loudest at Old Trafford that season.

I can remember it like it was yesterday when Durkin scored, a millisecond of shock followed by hugging the first person I saw.
There was also a story that the second loudest cheer of the day was when it was announced at Elland Road that Wrexham were one nil up.

Schmeichel got man of the match on radio 5

Paddy Crearand was reporting and said " with support like that anything could happen"

United were a bit off with us

Offering to take any unsold tickets from us!!
No beer sold in the away end, in case we got over exited apparently
Music volume being turned up pre match to try and drown out the singing
Their fanzine describing our fans as weird after the match ( didn't like being out sung even when 5-1 down)
Best song from their fans " Go west you wont be seen again" to the pet shop boys tune

Great day.

One of my favourite away days, purely because of the atmosphere. I was 14 at the time, time really flies.

I think we had close on 9000 on the Scoreboard End. Didn't realise it was that long ago. The United team of old was awesome . Nowadays they can only live on their memories so keep on laughing at them on the General Football thread.

As many have said, a fantastic day and if I remember right around 8-9,000 Wrexham fans behind the goal roaring Wrexham on

The moment Kieron Durkan scored will live with me forever , with your best mates celebrating as we've just took the lead at Old Trafford against pretty much United's strongest team (bar Eric the King of course)

UNITED 0 WREXHAM 1 reverberated around the world. The noise was incredible

I vividly remember we stayed in the game until around the hour. 2-1 behind following goals from Irwin & Giggs, the ball was crossed in and missed by several United defenders and landed at the feet of Jonathon Cross. Time seemed to stand still as he hit a shot from around 10 yards out with just Schmeichel to beat but as he became famous for, he spread himself and saved with his legs.

United go up the other end and Brian McLair makes it 3-1

Should have been 2-2 but 30 sec later we're 3-1 down and the game has gone but what brilliant memories
