Agree with northwalian dragon ratings wise, piss poor all over the place, learn to adapt to the conditions of the day, terribly windy day so what do we resort to,fecking hoofball!! Keep it on the floor lads and you’ll be ok,simples.

A bigger worry was that they looked miles better than us with the ball at there feet......we need to hope chesterfield stay poor as daggers will pull past us.

Lainton 8 - 2 excellent saves that kept us in the game
Thompson 6 - considering this lad is normally a centre half and probably had 1 or possibly 2 training sessions with the team, I though5 he was decent. Even went to left back when Jennings went off Jennings 6 - for some reason he didn’t seem to get as forward as much as in pr3vious games. Hope his injury isn’t too bad. Lawlor. 7 - nightmare conditions for a centre half but coped well Pearson 7 - ditto Lawlor Kennedy 7 - ditto Lawlor but gave one horrendous pass Jarvis. 6 - looked tidy first half but was anonymous 2nd half Summerfield 6 - most under pressure from the arrival of Harris but kept plugging away. Like the rest of the midfield passing wasn’t as good today Young 6 - what happened to the Luke Young of the last 2 games? Rutherford 5 - we seem to say this a lot. Lots of effort with little output. Hooper 5 - we have to give him the ball on the floor and in the right places - shocking service to him and no shot/header on target says it all. Keillor Dunn - looked lively when he came on and had the idea of passing it on the floor - shame his colleagues didn’t have the same thoughts Harris - little cameo appearance including taking the post to provide height when they had a corner! The spine of the team looks much better now Lainton - Pearson - Harris/Young - Hooper and these players are now performing so well done Keates for turning it around. We need the results and we need to move away from the dreaded 1 up front |

Lainton (7) 2 excellent saves and coped well with the swirling wind.
Thompson (6) Some overly harsh criticisms of his first performance. Looked uncomfortable when switched to LWB. Lawlor (6) Mostly solid but too many hoofs out of defence. Pearson (7) Best of the 3 CBS but distribution again in the air. Kennedy (6) Same as Lawlor. Jennings (5) Too slow and flatters to deceive. Summerfield (4) Passenger. Young (5) Struggled. Rutherford (5) Flatters to deceive. Jarvis (7) Best footballer on the pitch, but was knackered in the second-half, having done the midfield’s work in the first. Hooper (5) Simply not strong enough or quick enough to act as a lone striker. Subs: Not on long enough after Keates dithered and eventually forgot about Ponticelli. A tedious and frustrating game. We failed to use the conditions and should have kept the ball on the floor more. This 5-4-1 formation came unstuck after 2 good wins. Does Keates have the faith to revert to 4-4-2 now Jay Harris has returned? I suspect not; so think we will bounce around just above the relegation zone, hoping we get to 53 points pdq before the pressure breaks the dam. We got a point, when 3 were required!

What’s happened to Jennings
Spent the whole game jogging back when caught out up field We need some speedy wingbacks if three at the back is the future Ended up as 5 at the back and hooper up front on his own. Rutherford did nothing for me Very disappointing performance, other than in part by Jarvis and Lainton once again keeping us in the game. Another week to work on things in training. Hopefully including looking at playing 2 upfront. |

Knew Hooper would get some unwarranted stick. He plays well with the ball played to him on the ground yet we're hoofing it up to him hoping he'll get on the end of something. He's just not that kind of striker.
He'll leave for another side in the summer who'll play to his strengths and he'll score over 20. |
