Maybe so.... but 12 long years of failure in the conference is taking its toll on nearly every long standing fan that remembers better times in the FL. Who would of thought after smashing Stevenage on that very first day as a NL team we would still be at the same level in 2020? - fighting another relegation!

We’ll fight another day but have once again been dragged back into the relegation dog fight after a little upturn in the last few games. The fact the likes of Tom Denton is scoring goals against us is a massive concern, along with the mounting injuries at the back and cheap loan replacements.

I’ve been 3 times this season - the fewest games I’ve been to in 20 years. I felt it was obvious that the Hughes appointment, along with some very big gambles in the transfer window, this season would be a struggle.

Lainton’s injury preseason should of been addressed and a proper replacement sort after. Anybody who suggests hindsight is wonderful should read my predictions before the season began.

Decisions made regarding management appointments, and player recruitment looked dubious when they were made - so those who had an input into them can shoulder some of the blame. Swanning around the boardroom in fancy ties and suits whilst pretending everything is fantastic doesn’t address the situation. It shows weak leadership. It’s a problem that isn’t going to go away.

Probably best to ignore the Trust fanatics and just let the people who want the club to be okay long-term talk amongst ourselves.

How to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Just got back and still can't get my head around how we lost that match.

Good points - Harris was a revelation in midfield - just what has been missing.
Pontacelli was very promising, full of running and took his goal well.

We lacked composure and each time we took the lead were pegged back within four minutes - if given space and allowed to play that's what Chesterfield will do - and we fell for it.

Missed Pearson when he went off injured just after their second equalizer.

New loanee Garratt at left back was very poor, slow and a good yard off the pace - Hooper imitates a statue and expects everyone else to do the hard work and put the ball on a silver plate for him - but it was far better having two strikers - shame one of them wont do any running.

Lainton's handling wasn't the best - if you come to punch the ball you have to get distance on it and send it sideways from the goal, not deliver it back into the danger zone.

As for the controversial winner - the only man that knows if the ball crossed the line was the one in the best position to view it - the refs assistant - a massive call to make but he made it which suggests he was certain - it would have been easier to play on as the players did and we all thought we had got out of jail until that assistant flagged for a goal - cruel.

637 reds in attendance in a crowd of 3,728.

Thankfully Aldershot lost and Daggers only got one point v SCFC with a very late goal - we should have got three but in fairness looked good and had lots of possession and scoring chances especially in the last 10 minutes - perhaps in chasing the winner we went too gung ho and left us open to the counter attack.

Looked good ! Your having a larf we looked, apart from Harris, an absolute mess across the back and apart from pontacelli up front as well against a shit team, race to the bottom and hopefully bury will save us.

I was slagged off on here a few games ago for calling Hooper lazy and disinterested, and weak in the air..

Keates should be shown the door now before we run out of games he is clueless read his after match comments.
