Clearly the aim was to ward them off but it also puts the stoppers on many other potentially beneficial moves. It was a deliberate act intended to produce the situation we have today where it will be no mean feat to make any meaningful improvements. As I have previously it a most technically sound piece of work.

I have also said for years the individual fans do not own the club as they do not own it or any of any portion of it. If you join the WST you are a "member" but not a shareholder.

Re your last paragraph "it doesn't leave much room for creativity, flexibility, growth and ambition", a good really good point but surely it goes much deeper? I believe it actually discourages those most desirable attributes.

Worst of all, the current ownership is not only fully aware of how watertight their position is but having tried it out over a number of years still endorse and believe in the ownership model.

Whether you want to change the cast or the play or both, nothing significant is likely to change until the owners (not the fans) agree to it and pro-actively make it happen. All this is going to take time the club does not have.

The reason I have gone past solely wanting a change of actors is that whilst the "model" is still in place intact it will simply attract others of the same ilk and mentality and thus be biased towards producing similar results.

Don’t we have one of the biggest budgets in the league?

We are probably in the top 6 budget wise at the start of the season when proof of finance is given to the league.
Where we end up is anyone's guess.
Barrow would have started with a smaller budget but their owner has splashed the cash, Boredom Wood are unsustainable without the money their owner puts in.
Chesterfield are an expensive basket case costing their financier around £2million a year. We can't match that.
Notts County have new owners, good crowds but aren't setting the world alight.
Fylde are well backed and struggling.

Don't think there is a guaranteed way of getting out of this league, More money helps and extra funding to support the team, run the club, maintain the ground and pay the wages. is always needed.

I like many others went to the Uni to listen to the presentation and vote on whether we should take the lease on the Racecourse, I voted for it despite there being very little upfront information on what that meant to us financially. Immediately after the vote was passed in favour Spencer Harris opened up a power point presentation detailing the huge financial struggles we could face financing the Racecourse and what we could all do to help put more money in. I sat there in despair at why this information wasn't available before the vote so we all could make a better informed decision, the answer of course was obvious, the board wanted the vote to go through and withheld the relevant information that might have led to fans voting against it.
A few months later the club was offered the chance to lease Colliers as our training complex, the board de facto decided they didn't want to do it (and chose to return to our spiritual home) This time it never went to a members vote, presumably because they were worried we might vote to stay there so our democratic right was taken away from us.
So when the usual mob say 'stand for election then' or 'put forward a resolution' etc when you dare to criticise anything (this is/was TaidTom's and Alan Attack's fav stock response to anything they couldn't put spin on or argue against even though its thoroughly flawed, both have now cried off here) its all meaningless because the board can veto it anyway or in the case of resolutions simply do everything they can to ignore and delay it like they have with the disabled platform.

The phrase fans owned model should be removed as we own sweet FA and fans like Wirral Red should know that.

We are basically run by Shelbies Peaky Blinders a dictatorship a closed shop.

The main problem as I see it with this model is 2 boards more or less become one, their IMHO needs to be a maximum time allowed to sit on either board 5 yrs max, so we get new blood new ideas and stops those at the top acting like they own the club.

After another 5 yrs they can stand again if they wish.

It was the fans who saved the club not the WST alone.

Money is not our problem. Our leadership no matter how well meaning is our biggest problem. A new approach with new direction / initiatives is what we need.

Change for the sake of change is not what our football club needs, we are suffering from the lack of stability and numerous changes the club has had and may end up paying the ultimate price of relegation. We will never be successful until we find stability with a manager, backroom staff and most of all the playing staff.

Any change needs to be well thought through and all the options need to be fully thought through if we are to find the right model for us. There are lots of knee jerk suggestions but on the back of this season's struggle there needs to be a root & branch review and a plan putting in place how we can get to where we need to be.

Don't do Twitter or Facebook , I read enough crap on here , I do have "Club Owner" on my WST membership card though.
I know that I can attend meetings and put forward resolutions and that if enough people vote for them they will have to be acted on.
