Oh, you still buy that crap that 'we're all owners' do you? Bless.

We're a football club, at the lowest point of its entire history and going nowhere fast, so its a fact.

After all this time and considering Wirral Red is one of their biggest flag wavers, this should not need explaining.
But you've explained it very well here draig, so maybe, just maybe it might sink in now?

Draig, I would think this type of legal terminology would have been written and put in place by SD just to ward off potential Hamilton types from ever resurfacing at fans owned clubs. Of course the problem with that sort of rigidity is though it certainly provides great defence and is territorially strong, it doesn't leave much room for creativity, flexibility, growth and ambition.

I see the word 'shares' is mentioned in this thead. They are not shares are they? in the real sense of the meaning. "Shareholders' have no more influence over the club than a 15 quid member. Have I misunderstood ?

You understand correctly.
1 member one vote. Community shareholders have the same weight as ordinary members.

I remember the time when it first dawned on me that as "members" we had no control over what was happening and were being controlled by the FC Board

I like many others went to the Uni to listen to the presentation and vote on whether we should take the lease on the Racecourse, I voted for it despite there being very little upfront information on what that meant to us financially. Immediately after the vote was passed in favour Spencer Harris opened up a power point presentation detailing the huge financial struggles we could face financing the Racecourse and what we could all do to help put more money in. I sat there in despair at why this information wasn't available before the vote so we all could make a better informed decision, the answer of course was obvious, the board wanted the vote to go through and withheld the relevant information that might have led to fans voting against it.
A few months later the club was offered the chance to lease Colliers as our training complex, the board de facto decided they didn't want to do it (and chose to return to our spiritual home) This time it never went to a members vote, presumably because they were worried we might vote to stay there so our democratic right was taken away from us.

The first £1 of your initial joining fee bought you 1 share which makes you an "owner" (). After that it's all renewal of your membership not your ownership. But if you don't renew and cease to be a member, they take the share back - but don't give you your £1 back!

"Ownership" is very misleading statement. We are "members", none of us own anything
