Do we need an Investor?

Yes, bring in an investor and you’ll rise through the leagues -NOT!

Bury have already gone, Bolton will be relegated, Macclesfield are deep in debt and being sued by their players. Orient came tumbling down after being taken over by an Italian Del-boy, now Oldham are staring at administration and a 10 point deduction.
Even if we go down, we still have a functioning and viable club

There are 5 cautionary tales there. However there are 87 other clubs in the football league that are mostly privately owned that are not in administration.

Plus fan ownership ain't working, and I would say that relegation to the NLN when you are the second biggest club in the league is neither viable nor functioning.

You are supporting medicocrity and failure and possible non viability all in the name of fans ownership, just because of a few bad experiences Have you been talking to the club killer that goes by the name of Pete Jones ?

Well SS, you seem to have as much fore sight and ambition as the present WAFC board.

This is the losers mentality we're up against right here. The brainwashed brigade.

Is that the same Orient who have since recovered from their one bad owner and have a new private owner who took them out of this league ahead of us?

Even the owner of Macclesfield took them out of this league ahead of us, doesn't say much for our glorious leaders does it when bad owners achieve more than them?
What a fail of a thread. :bulb:

Fans ownership does seem to have its limits. Are we really “fans owned” though?

Looking at it from a different perspective, am I not just paying an annual fee to be a “member” of a trust which appoints a Club board to own the club?

Despite its limits, crazy appointments and contracts do not aid it’s cause. Those who made these decisions are solely responsible for our stagnation in previous years and heavy decline this year.

What really boils my pi£& is it has taken a relegation battle for the board to back the manager in January. All those seasons when we’ve needed 1/2 proper players to come in to push on for promotion in January and made real scraping the barrel signings... Clearly self preservation of board positions is more important than promotion and any benefits that would bring.

Wasn’t it 2008 when we were relegated? We’re still here!

Ah The old " WE'VE STILL GOT A CLUB " chestnut ! Nah let's pick more volunteers and toddle along in the depths of despair for another 12 years. Unfortunately and you may not like it its the only way we will ever get out of this hell hole !

Re: Do we need an Investor?

Regardless of the fan owned situation, the point was made about bad private owners. I would suggest that the only thing worth investing in as far as Wrexham FC is concerned is success. The potential as a club is there for all to see, great catchment area, fanbase etc. Downsides are no assets as far as saleable assets are concerned, the lease with the Uni is as a football ground so what would be in it for someone to plough a load of money in with the aim of asset stripping the club?
I would suggest that anyone that fancies making money at Wrexham will only do so on the back of onfield and offfield success.
