Default Mandate for the Groves training ground

Given the boards insistence that they cannot seek outside investment without a mandate yet they press forward on a new training ground without a mandate it’d be interesting to know if theyd achieved enough votes to continue with the current project

Building it in a limited space at the groves with no room for expansion
Building it on a very complex piece of land
In a very busy part of town
A half arsed approach if we don’t get promoted back to the football league in the next 2 years (which may need back to back promotions)
No room for the youth teams on the limited land

If there were a vote for the current plans how would you vote? I’m all for a new training ground but this seems doomed from the start

Would be more cost effective to buy a big field bordering on the Industrial Estate. Clean sheet of paper and better value for money. What do I know?

Or maybe just have a chat with the FAW and use Colliers, until we get out of this hell hole, then look at a site.

Before getting a new training ground it might be an idea to actually commit to effective training itself.

True-struggled at times to keep up fitness wise in matches against part times sides in last 2.5 years.

It should be noted that our lease on 9 acres is for another 2 years and the council have earmarked the site for a school.
Stansty is a non starter. Could use Carden Park or Druids. The Groves seems a decent option as long as we don't go OTT with spending while we're still in the National League.
If we get promoted then options are open.

A long lease taken now limits our options.

It is a tricky question!

Thought process for me:
Will it be better than what we have? Yes.
Will it have security of long term lease? Yes
Have other sites been assessed? No idea.
Is the council gifting the land? Basically yes.
Is the council gifting the land as they want us off the 9 Acre to build a school? Yes
If we were not being booted off would we be looking to move as a priority? Probably not.
If we were not being booted with a gift of the land would that site be top of the list to look to acquire? Probably not.
Could we afford to buy land elsewhere? Not sure, if we have several hundred grand to spend to improve the Groves could we own somewhere and grow from there?
Does this al mean that its a good deal? Possibly as we dont have the cost to buy land.
Have we looked what other freeholds or long term land leases we could acquire? No idea.
Is it big enough for now? Yes
Is it big enough for what I think the ambitions of the club might want to expand to? No.
They go on...!

I don't think there is enough information out there for anyone to make anything apart from an emotional answer.

If the information is somewhere I will take a look and then pop a vote
