When we struggle then you'd rather paint the garden fence!! Is that supporting your team? Bit like a marriage, for better or worse.....stick it out or divorce.
Still you've always got the money clubs to watch on sky while the likes of us live of the scraps!!
I don’t think you can accuse anyone of not being a real supporter after consistent decline year after year since 2004 and then major decline since the WST took over.

To put it simply down to “not being a top fan” is bizarre. There are fans that have gone home and away for 40 years that have stopped going. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 2003 and even as shortly as 18 months ago I could never imagine being this disillusioned with the club.

Football fans get deliriously optimistic (see fans thinking we could make the playoffs this year) and they dream of success. Under the current board, structure and management staff ive never seen optimism be so low. Going into the playoffs last year was surreal. Everyone I spoke to thought we’d lose and even if we made it past Eastleigh we’d go no further. Our dream of success is narrowly getting into the playoffs and losing again, that’s a great season for us. We’re quite happy to just have a go whilst wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds year after year. We’re happy to fail every year because we’re fans owned, mistakes are made over and over again but we forgive. Quite frankly the majority of Wrexham fans dreams of success are dead.

Wrexham is famous for being the giant killers, the tough little team that’ll have a go at anyone, that will fight for anything and will always push its chest out and wear its heart on its sleeve. It’s not that club any more.

You can call fans whatever you want when their club has been stripped of its pride and it’s identity and they’ve lost interest. Yet their passion for the club will always be there. Just not whilst we have the people responsible for draining away the identity at the club, not whilst we continue to reward failure and not whilst we refuse to change

The fact that you’re ignoring the core reasons for good, honest, lifelong fans reaching the end of their tether speaks volumes.

Does the acceptance of the cancerous ineptitude that prevails and the proven amateurish direction that the club is being led, make you a better fan? Really?

Blind loyalty can only be stretched so far.

Classic Petered, light the touch paper and walk away! No one is really supposed to stay at the helm of an honoury role for very long, are they? We used to have two or three thousand trust members, and only the chosen few can sit at the top table.
In any job, mistakes can be made, granted. Just because the present board are not paid, doesn’t mean that they cannot suffer the consequences of their poor decision making. It’s not their club - it’s our club!
There will always be a small cohort of fans who support the present regime. They think that our club cannot be bettered. They harp on about ‘being saved from oblivion’ and the evils of any form of private investment. Fair enough, they are entitled to their views, but they are in the minority today.
My concern/worry is how in June we can remove the board in a dignified way. Why should we sail this close to relegation to get our points across?

Great post but it really concerns me that Peter just doesnt get it does he ? He is like King Canute trying to stop the sea of discontent and disillusionment washing through our once proud club.

'Top fan' . wow!! Thanks very much. Really?? I did not say or suggest that. Lets put it another way. How many at Eastleigh? Near on three times what we are likely to get through the gates on Saturday. Why? Two fold, your fair weather football fans who fancy watching a match but dont really profess to be a WFC supporter, thats fair enough. Then there are your so called 'hard core' fans, many of which are now not so hardcore because things aint going there way! But hey, dont worry, they'll be back when things eventually turn. Good on ya lads.
Football goes in cycles. The mighty Leeds, former European cup finalists, when where they last in the top flight which I'm sure their fans believe they should be. Notts Forrest...see above(except they actually won it) Birmingham,Portsmouth,Coventry and go further back to your Notts County and Carlise......should they all be in the Premier League because they once were top flight teams? As for lighting the torch paper, happen to be working, not in a position to spend all day on here.

Well said Pete - and well done for putting your head above the parapet.
I don't think that you have said anywhere that you back the boards decisions but you get called all sorts anyway.
Not sure why we can't adopt the West Ham approach -"Back the team -Not the regime".
