What relevance does this have to the 'here and now' ?

Last season both Eastleigh and us were in the play off positions - this season both playing squads have changed considerably and either or both of us could go down.

I agree with the summary of their exploits last season - they came into our cauldron and got out with a win - they also went to Salford and were better for the most part and could count themselves unfortunate not to have reached the final.

A team of individuals can be trained and worked on a fitness programme to extremes - however I am convinced collective mental strength, having several big characters and leaders through the team is more important - of course you have to be fit in the first place but are you really up for the battle ahead ?

If I was an Eastleigh fan, I would be expecting my team to go and put Chorley to the sword. Chorley are easily the worst team in this league - we even won there! So tomorrow, anything less than an Eastleigh win, will be celebrated in our house. We cannot realistically, be expecting our rivals to slip up (although they will). Keates has got to drum it into the squad that our destiny is in our own hands. We must win sufficient games - steady Eddie draws might not be good enough!
