It’s very odd. If 4 teams are relegated 5 have to come up but no mention of NLN & NLS are planning to do this?? Surely it must be 3 down?

No there's only 1 coming down from league 2

Yes but 2 go up from this league. So if 4 went down that's 6 teams leaving this league but only 5 joining this league..

Exactly, leaving 23 teams in the National League! So will be 3 down.

Why is this so complicated for everyone one ? As it stands there will be 23 teams next season. To redress that either 3 go down or 5 come up - simple. My understanding was that Bury’s legal challenge is preventing clarification.

It s usually that they reduce the relegation spaces and not increase the promotion places, so its more likely that 3 go down rather than 5 come up

Or they play with 23 teams as another option. Not unheard of.
