I can tell you, I wish to god a cold pie was our greatest problem !!!
Going to the Car ras on a match day, you should be getting the full package, not poor tactics and cold food. If you decided to take the family to the ground one saturday and you were not a regular and you ordered pies for everyone and they were cold, then that just makes a bad afternoon worse. So yes being served cold food does add to our problems. Can you remember the last time you went away and got served cold food??? I dont think it has ever happened to me.

The quality of food on offer has been poor for years, whose umbrella does this fall under? Is it Commercial or Stadium Manager?
Why are they content to just let it carry on like this?

Says a lot about how the club is being run, nobody can be bothered sorting anything out.

Similarly some of the items on sale in the club shop make you wonder, a toy truck, paper plates chocolates etc.
Just because we have always sold them doesnt mean we should carry on selling them.

How about modernising things?
I'm sure that parents would purchase things like duvet cover and pillow case sets, lamp shades, wrex the dragon onesies.

The alternative is to bring in more police which would cost the club far more - that's the way things have gone across many sports in recent years but especially in football and horse racing.

If we didn't have enough trained stewards and security staff at games we would fail to comply with the stadium safety certificate - that could theoretically mean we would have to play with a reduced crowd number, some stands closing or a game being played with no supporters at all (taking it to it's drastic extreme).
I totally get that, as per my original post, shortage of stewards etc

But the club are paying these guys for doing absolutely nothing, at least deploy them where they’re needed instead of standing in the concourse doing nothing. They should be instructed to stand at an exit gate or stairwell etc.

They need to be instructed in pre match meetings that they’re not on duty outside some seedy nightclub today, so lose the attitude, frankly.

Totally agree most of them look and act like morons . This 8s supposed to be a friendly fans owned club but to be honest I feel that these morons are putting me right off !! By the way the stewards referred to as volunteers are paid to attend so why cant the club recruit more ? could it be another sign of apathy regarding the way our club is run ?
As for the pies , they used to be fine but I have stopped buying them now and dont get me going about the chips , hand it all over to the Turf food people !!!!

Agree. The one or two I've had most experience of, don't exactly exude a welcoming vibe. They look as if they're just one wrong word away from a full-on attack of 'roid-rage'!.

WrexSi - to put it another way - look at the SIA staff as a cheaper substitute to the police if and when an incident kicks off.

They are trained and qualified to deal with conflict and that's why they are there.

Stewarding will be a separate entity all together - nothing should be left to chance - the allocation of stewards roles in each stand, their individual roles and responsibilities will be documented - they will also have a specific role in an emergency situation, a partial or full stadium evacuation.

Just like the police, the covering of exit gates, keeping vomitories clear and marshalling supporters to and from their seats is not a role for S.I.A staff.
If supporters don't comply with stewards instructions then the next port of call will be to call in the S.I.A staff - in addition I suspect they have a mobile remit as responders to spontaneous incidents.

The arrangements have moved down this road on a national basis to dramatically reduce the number of police required within stadiums to comply with the safety certificates - in reality it is a compromise which will be far less costly to each respective club.
