Sammy, in your view, would it be more desirable to have 1000 'loyal supporters' and 6,000 'fair weather supporters' in attendance? Or just the 1000 'loyal supporters' by themselves? (Numbers made up, obviously!)

Fortunately we have managed to stay out of the bottom four today. Frankly , not playing because one player was unavailable , was absolutely bloody stupid given the outside possibility of a guillotine on the league at this point.

...and results have largely gone against us in those NL matches played this afternoon apart from Maidenhead i.e. Fylde, Chesterfield. We continue to hover in danger of the NLN trapdoor!

But if that one player has the infection he has probably passed it on to others. They can then infect others.

Not ideal but think the club has done the right thing.

We will now have a break until at least early April, possibly longer. We are in a very precarious place; but it could be worse!

Lots of workplaces currently have people self isolating, it doesn’t mean the whole workplace shuts down.

Take your point and obviously your hypothetical 6,000 is far better I just get annoyed when supporters make bold statements like they won't go if so and so is in charge or not going if so and so still gets picked etc etc apologies but I'd buy my next year's season ticket now if it was necessary whatever league we are in. By the way I believe we will scrape through this year.

It maybe months before the peak has passed and the footballing authorities make their decision on how to continue (or not) the current season.

Whatever decision is made, needs to be applied throughout the pyramid, not different decisions by each footballing body.

True, but do they have to run around for 90 minutes? And can players be expected to perform immediately after recovering from the infection?

The chances are that many players will get it, and they will therefore not be fully fit whenever the games recommence. We must hope our lot suffer better than our relegation rivals, but that is all in the hankies of the gods!

Applying the same standard across the piste is essential. Interesting times ahead.

But there are bigger issues to worry about!
