We really turned up that day, we battered them and McKeown produced some blinding saves, the one from Danny Wright was one of the best I’ve seen live. But then he was useless in the shootout, our pens were poor and easily saveable but he went the wrong way for them all.

Was a travesty that we went a goal down, I don’t think it was a penalty for us either.

It did take us 3 more seasons, but at least we ended up getting the more important Wembley victory.

Hey Les - good to see you back visiting this board after our paths of life went different routes at the crossroads.

How have the fanbase taken to Ian Holloway and is he doing a decent job ?

I earlier rediscovered some fantastic Wembley scenes from that final in a video termed 'Bootlegger 2013 season'.
Can't load it on here anymore but good viewing (well until the last game of the season that is).

"Ollie" has been a breath of fresh air mate. Still can't beleive we managed to get him here. Not taking into account what's going on in the world now but he's brought a new optimism to our fans and it's not just the fans it's the whole are he's lifted with his infectious positive attitude.

Results have improved, as have performances and although we've left it a bit late this season (if we ever get back to playing again) I'm very optimistic about next season (depending on what happens next season that is) that'll we'll be giving promotion a decent shot as no doubt he'll bring in a few more of his players. At the minute though everything is up in the air with no real sight of when all this will end.

Thanks for the insight - good to see IH back in the game - it needs characters like him. Meanwhile back at Wrexham when the biscuit tin is handed around GTFC select the chocolate double macaroon and we end up with the 'small stale broken' one from the bottom of the tin that no one else wants !
