Football is a religion to many. You take someone's religion away and people start to feel depressed, anxious and at a loss.

In that sense I feel football remains very important in our social community. It affects a lot of people and their loved ones. Even those who don't like football.

Of course there is the classic Shankly quote regarding football and life and death. That was taken a bit out of context I feel.

I do agree that football has to take somewhat of a back step while the fall out is understood by the masses. Because it has still not been understood yet. It is a evolving story each day.

I agree nature is our solution.

We have disregarded her for too long. Sucked her finite resources up and thrown them into the refuse bin.

The world needs to listen, to love and to then heal.

It's going to take a long time.

We (all on red passion) are going to need to help one another, because though we love our club with all our hearts, we can't expect the club to help us. The club are actually going to be expecting us to help them.

We all have families and loved ones. We all need income to buy food and pay the rent or the mortgage or whatever else we feel we need. Our basics our shelter, food and health. The rest (including football) are our wants. B

But football does provide positive mental wellbeing for many. Even those who feel this season has created mental pain (it clearly did) we still need it to have football in our lives as something that has always been there that we always cling on to.

I personally feel as a community rather than debating wether or how this season is going to unfold. (I think it's obvious it will have to be cancelled if it hasn't already) We should be trying to figure out how we can all help one another. As a community by sharing our knowledge and needs.

Due to the severity of the situation unfolding don't think this is an Off Topic conversation.

Perhaps Red Passion should create a fundraiser for the Red Passion community?

To put ourselves first as a loving community and help one another.

As self employed person, I don't have great funds but I do have enough to help. Am happy to put in £100 to start if anyone (Rob ? can help to set it up )

It's just a thought.
Happy to have any RP contributor have a free weeks accommodation in Sydney once you can travel again (plenty of room for a couple) ...there you go I've kicked it off.

You can finish it whenever it is safe to do so.
At some point it will be decided that we can play football again. At that point there is a choice to finish the season you are 80% of the way through or to start a new one.

Finishing it would be dire. We would not be as well prepared as other teams physically and mentally (because we don’t prepare properly) and would almost certainly go down. Predictions that lots of clubs will go bust and we will suddenly end up in the Premiership are ludicrous, along with much of the other exaggerations in all walks of life at the moment. Finishing the season would also severely mess up the start of next season and the one after as everything would be pushed back. I cannot understand any Wrexham fan wanting more agony; for God’s sake, one of the benefits of the bug is that it has stopped the season. Let’s take this olive branch , and hope it all ends and starts afresh In August.

You are looking purely from a Wrexham point of view but there there is a bigger picture for the whole of football

No, it’s your preferred option, but not necessarily the only one. We will soon find out which way the NL Executive and its clubs prefer but, even then, this might be overtaken by the fast evolving events in the ‘real word’.

As WK says, football can be a pseudo-religion that offers great relief and hope to its many diverse cults, but CV-19 threatens to be Nietzsche if the football authorities do not manage this crisis well.

Great offer Ozzy Red. Very generous and I hope you will be inundated once life eventually returns to its new norm, whatever that might be.

Whole of football too. Finishing the season with radically changed squads (illness and contracts ending) will make a mockery of it and lead to unfair outcomes.

The least unfair outcome is to award promotion places on a ppg basis, have no relegation and slightly increase ( by about 2 clubs) the size of each league for 20-21. This is as fair as possible to those doing well, very fair to those at the bottom and fair to all because it would lead to extra games next season and more revenue. If the premier league moans about the number of extra games, they can cancel their ridiculous Carabooboo Cup instead.

Before anyone accuses me of scaremongering this is my take on it

We will be in lockdown (as of now) until some point in June.
We wouldn't be creating all of these field hospitals for 2 weeks of action.
So I firmly believe we will be in lockdown until beginning of June at the earliest.

In terms of football (which is so low down the list of priorities) I believe the Associations and Leagues are aware of this and are now hoping to launch the next season in late August.

With that in mind, the logical thing to do is to close down the current season and find a solution to how they resolve promotion and relegation. You are not going to please everyone so some will disappointed.

Keeping yourself healthy and virus free has to be more of a priority than watching football anyway.
