I was in the boys pen on the kop. Most freightening game I ever attended.

When I used to go (far more than I do now) to Liverpool games when younger plenty of older LFC fans I chatted with down the years said to me (and there is obviously a history with LFC which if anything strengthens the point I'd have thought) that Wales/Scotland 1977 game was the scariest most nasty/frightening atmosphere they'd ever been at.

That fits in with all the Wales fans I've known who I've spoken with down the years who went as well and everything said here.

It was the only time I've ever been on the Kop thankfully. I reckon we were working harder than the players trying to keep our footing as the crowd surged up and down the terraces. Horrible experience, horrible result and to cap it off going from working up a sweat inside the stadium to the cold night air outside gave me a cold that lasted a fortnight. A game to forget if ever there was one.

Ally’s tartan army that was going to win the World Cup in Argentina, but were ignominiously dumped out in the league stages.

Top side Iran to be fair.

I was 5 at the time Wiltshire Red so don't remember the 1978 world cup (and certainly not Anfield) properly though it's been handed down to me by so many people. I assume at the time though that pretty much all of Wales found it hysterical that the Scots after cheating us and then building themselves up worse than the Sais for that tournament came home humiliated?

Got adopted by some jocks who insisted that I shared their whiskey, got home pissed.

I seam to remember a bus load of jocks turning up at the Racecourse and buying a big chunk of the 2500 tickets on sale, couple of mates missed out on the game as they could not get tickets.
Did it hit him again in the second half ?

Never forget the glass landing on our heads and thinking 'I'm Irish what am i doing here ?' Always hated Jordan but simply can't hate Dalglish as he was a gentleman and nearly as good a footballer as Graham Whittle.

Never have I been so happy NOT to get a ticket. Friends that went said it was a nightmare made worse by losing to a cheat and poor referee.

Incredible contrast to attending games at Anfield today - massive organisation and passive crowd control. I would never choose to go over attending a Wrexham match but have enjoyed taking my grandsons. (The deal being if I take you to Liverpool you have to come to watch Wrexham) They have reported me to Social Services,Child Protection.
