Incredible contrast to attending games at Anfield today - massive organisation and passive crowd control. I would never choose to go over attending a Wrexham match but have enjoyed taking my grandsons. (The deal being if I take you to Liverpool you have to come to watch Wrexham) They have reported me to Social Services,Child Protection.

I was a teenager at the time and it is the only game that I have ever been to when I was hoping that the team I supported lost. I was convinced that had we won I would not have got out of The Kop alive. How people were not killed that night is beyond me. The Scots fans were an absolute disgrace. When the fighting started on The Kop there was a thin blue line of Cardiff fans fighting like mad against the drunken Scots. Fortunately Jordan cheated and there was a three metre gap between us and the Scots running up The Kop after that. I have hated the Scots fans ever since. They used to be a disgrace when they came here in the Home Internationals. The worst drunken thugs in the world.

ive just read a thread on the Cardiff city forum from some years ago, the poster claims Wrexham fans sold their tickets to Scottish fans and that in the ground there was no Wrexham fans to be seen, i daresay that with so many hostile jocks throwing bottles around no one was going to admit to being Welsh that night

I have wanted to see Scotland lose in every game they have played since that day at Anfield- even when they have played against England.

The Welsh FA are to blame
How on the night you could tell where the Welsh fans came from would be impossible by the amount of Scottish fans present
If like myself we where just trying to be safe
I was in the Kop but ended up in the paddock to my left the crushing was to much to take

The same rumour was being spread about the Cardiff fans, even when we were in the ground on that night. Personally, I didn't see any Cardiff fans on the night; then again, most Welsh fans hid their scarves and just kept quiet; it was genuinely dangerous to do otherwise.

from the posts in here ans reading elsewhere it seems to put that night in Newcastle when Dixie scored that equaliser in the shade and that trip back to the coaches was surreal, sounds like the Scottish game at Anfield was St James Park on steroids
