Default Wales v Scotland 1977

Wales v Scotland 1977 at Anfield, long distant memory now,. it was supposed to be a Wales home game, how did so many scottish fans get into the ground?

Bloody scary on the kop.
Jocks handing over Notes on the turnstiles and hopping the barriers.
Bottles thrown all over the place and Jordans Hand ball capped a night to forget. Very exciting though and a cracking if hostile atmosphere.

The FAW put money above all other considerations. Anfield had a bigger capacity than the Racecourse, ergo, more paying customers regardless of where they came from.

oh yes i remember all the condemnatiion of the Welsh fa, and the stories of Wales fans being grossly outnumbered and various tales of terror, never heard an explanation of why we were so heavily outnumbered

The most frightening match I've ever been to.
Working in Liverpool so went with a colleague , stopped at the Mons in Bootle on the way , lasted 30 seconds jammed with Scots , up on the tables everywhere. Got to the ground early being warned by police on the way to keep our tickets out of sight. We were in the paddock , Wales were supposed to have the Kop. The only Welsh fans we could see were in the top left corner , Scots were taking great delight in chucking bottles at the roof so that the glass fell on the Welsh. Saw lots of people being led past with cut heads.
Joe Jordans hand ball capped an awful night.

Not only were cans being thrown distinctly remember a couple of party sevens being hurled above our heads on the kop any St Johns also being targeted I have never been so frightened at a football match ever. Then after into a night club which had David Alexander singing which was drowned out by the Scots fans singing far louder he gave up in the end and conducted both Scots and Welsh in renditions of their own songs

Mate of mine got hit on the head by a 8 track cassette of all things

One copper trying to stop the fighting at the top of the kop. until he was knocked clean out. My feet were of the floor most of the time scary as hell for a teen.

Got adopted by some jocks who insisted that I shared their whiskey, got home pissed.

I seam to remember a bus load of jocks turning up at the Racecourse and buying a big chunk of the 2500 tickets on sale, couple of mates missed out on the game as they could not get tickets.
