If I was Bolton or Southend i'd accept it, and three come up. But how can you possibly allowed 4th place who don't automatically go up, qualify for promotion when they haven't actually finished in a play off position or had to win the play offs.

Lawsuits incoming.

Depends on where you're standing, though, doesn't it?

Very tough on Tranmere if true and they'll think it was still in their hands.

On the other hand, any sporting competition is just that, a competition. It would also be very tough on teams not to be promoted (and is even tougher on the poor sods at step 3 and below who had their seasons cancelled without a by your leave). Fundamentally, teams near the bottom have had a sh*t season and maybe deserve to go down; equally, teams at the top have had a decent season and maybe deserve to go up. So the only argument should be about who goes down and who goes up, not the principle that there should be promotions and relegations.

Nothing is fair about this and it should be a case of finding the least unfair way of moving forwards.

The only way to do it is to void the season?.

Tough on teams like Barrow/Leeds and you feel for them, however the season is over a set number of games and no rules exist to cover this situation.

This coming from someone who backed Esha ness in the Grand national that never was .

I think voiding it is the fairest on everyone (whilst unfair on the runaway leaders I know ,but rather than run the risk of lawsuits and arguements taking place for months on end ), it can only be like replaying a game thats been called off with 20 minutes left to play- you dont meet and play the last 20 mins or decide thats the final position ,you go from start again !! Dont you ??

I just don’t get the case for voiding. Not for me.

The whole point of a competition is that teams who do well get rewarded and teams who do sh*t get punished. Voiding achieves the exact opposite.

What will you do next season if CV strikes again? Void again? I doubt it as, if so, we may as well not bother with sport at all. And if you don’t want to void next season, nor should you void this one. That’s my tuppence-worth anyway.

Watching Sunday Supplement on Sky and one of the journalists has just said that the National League are considering using the mid point of the season as the method to decide promotion and relegation.

Legally they'd be leaving themselves wide open. No chance they can do that and be legally clean

I've said from the very start that the fairest way for the vast majority is to void the season and start again whenever it's safe to do so

Absolutely bonkers. This league we are in really doesn't have a clue how to run its business during the crisis. It is playing at making non-decisions while its players , fans and club owners sit back totally baffled by it all. National League just listen--- void the season, no promotion, no relegation, no games, no fans, it is over.
