Lacking Behind - Lacking Income
Why can't we trade? Online Shops Open: AFC Fylde, Maidenhead, Ebbsfleet, Chesterfield, Aldershot, Torquay, Sutton, Dover, Barnet, Woking, Hartlepool, Solihul Moors, Halifax, Boreham Wood, Yeovil, Notts County, Harrogate & Barrow Taking deposits for 2020/21 season tickets: Chorley Nothing: Us, Dagenham, Bromley, Eastleigh & Stockport I don't think Eastleigh have an online shop at all and Stockport are rebranding and the online shop was under construction before coronavirus Let's drop down a level too - Online Shops Open: York, Kings Lynn, Brackley, Boston, Spennymoor, Chester, Gateshead, Guiseley, Darlington, Southport, Telford, Alfreton, Hereford, Leamington, Kettering, Bradford PA Closed: Altrincham, Farsley, Kiddy, Curzon, Gloucester & Blyth I don't go on other clubs sites much at all but boy was it depressing! We're miles behind so many clubs in many aspects of web design, product design, graphic design, photography, videography, communication, advertising, presentation and online shop systems. Every single site I visited I clicked right through to the checkout page to test it out. Granted the club shop can't open but online sales should be continuing. Now we have a prolonged period without football we should be looking at every aspect of the club and how it can be improved. We have a mindset of matching what some others do, we make sure we're not the worst. But what are we the best at? What do we exceed at compared to others in our league? We did exceed everyone not just in our league but in leagues above when it came to accessibility and inclusion thanks to the DSA, but na, the club banned them. |

Re: Lacking Behind - Lacking Income
online sales should be viable for us more than most other NL clubs, due to size and demand.
I think it’s worrying that there’s no new stock, so when we come out of lockdown are we then going to wait for new stock to be delivered? I’ve read some clubs have had record preorder demand for new kit. Excellent information from ND, for those in doubt it shows where this club is at. |

Re: Lacking Behind - Lacking Income
From the latest board minutes
“GJ briefed on the position regarding Club stock and a potential on-line shop. All staff have been furloughed. No new stock has been purchased. Also, if an on-line shop was opened it will compromise the position of Wrexham AFC as an employer to furloughed staff.” So how are all these other clubs managing?? The above statement seems to be saying because we’ve furloughed Staff we’re not allowed to generate any income - which is obviously rubbish. Just unfurlough the commercial dept. Regardless of the shop being shut why aren’t they looking at selling sports wear direct through macrons website. Tim from spirit of 58 is managing to bring out Macron-branded kit (raising money for charities at the same time) so why can’t we? Last edited by FieldtownRed; 12th June 2020 at 06.05:42.. |

Re: Lacking Behind - Lacking Income
Good work ND
- Even if we can't use our own staff at all (and that's dubious) surely there's an employer, literally anyone with a secure site and a means of distribution, who could be contracted to sell our merchandise on our behalf? Think of all the different companies who have turned round and started selling hand-sanitiser, face-masks etc. as a means of making up for lost income. There must be a company in Wrexham who would be happy to take all our stock and sell it on our behalf for a reasonable commission? |

The myth that this club is 'well run off the pitch' is now so laughable and embarrassing it hasn't been used as a defence in a long time. |

And then, when they launched this UTS(T)T initiative, Geoff Smith said the commercial dept weren't involved in it! Why not? Here's his post for reference: Donation drive launched UTST | UNITE TO SAVE THE TOWN Surely one way of fundraising is to increase existing revenue streams? In fact, it's probably the simplest way isn't it? Last edited by FieldtownRed; 12th June 2020 at 08.08:23.. |
