Does anyone know if we are currently paying our employees at 80% or 100%
I think its 80%. The fact Shaun Pearson was out delivering Pizzas for the Fat Boar at the weekend would suggest they are not on full pay.

When you think of the recent appointments we have covered every option (I think). I would like a manager like John Neal when he first took over but tell me who would meet that criteria and would "we fans" ever give someone the time to develop.
I think that's a fair point - Who would be popular? I seem to remember Ricketts and Mills were well received here, and we all know how the latter panned out.

I think the point I was making was that appointing Keates was probably one of the most unpopular decisions we could have. To most fans he was a known quantity, boring football and he walked out on us at a vital time in the season (and the season then fell to bits.)

I think getting rid would go a long way towards winning some fans back over, and appointing someone that is a breath of fresh air. I go back to Ricketts, he came across as just that.

Mills was justified being well received though, purely from a fans perspective and not knowing what he was really like.
His teams used to come here and play us off the pitch consistently with great football and he'd been promoted from this league before.

I think too much has happened now to win fans back with just appointing another manager. The trust (no pun intended) is long gone and its rare if not impossible to win back now. I still believe fan ownership at this club is at the beginning of the end and this years antics and revelations have done far too much damage that we can recover from.

Many fans would be unhappy if a new manager with a win percentage of 40 to 50% was appointed, despite that being a fair recipe for a strong promotion challenge.

Expectations are way too high for our own good, and any defeats in the first few games would have the baying wolves calling for his blood.

Are expecations really that high, after 12 years in this division a play off eliminator is looked at as a good season,a few more of the ambitious national league clubs have sacked there manager even when they have been around the play off zone, like it or not we are just an average non league club who will probably still be in this division in another 12 years or even lower.

My expectations aren’t too high, I have accepted for a long time that we’re a struggling mid table conference team. That is the level the board want to play at, unfortunately it’s not what I want to watch so all my money and effort has been pumped into watching United with my son since the arrival of Keates. Apathy has set in years ago and still seeing fans lauding the likes of Rutherford and Dibble around after what they’ve achieved so far has lost me, so well done board and well done you who ever you are.

Are they though? I think if you have half a brain you could play our fans like a fiddle, you know what they want to see and they will tolerate more than most. A couple of wins, all of a sudden and we have a packed stadium and a packed away end on our travels.

The flip side to that is the current board, who have consistently antagonized fans with 1000 different wrongdoings. That's even before we get to discuss Dean Keates who they absolutely did not want, they were talking a huge gamble in going against the grain and has not paid off. If after the Barrow/Hughes shitshow they appointed the right person most them could have glossed over the previous.

Whilst I don't think it will happen, the situation could be turned around to a degree. If we got in a manager who the fans really took to (think Dean Saunders early pre match comments about putting on a red shirt and fight etc) and the current board kept themselves quiet in the background we we could see a redeemed situation. We wont though, and now we have COVID19 to kick us while we are down.

That's pretty much it.

Expectations may have been higher in the past, but now?

Bloody hell.
