Even if we where in the WPL we would have to win it, or the Welsh Cup, to get a European night at Y Cae Ras. I don't think the current set up are capable of winning either.

I agree, though I feel the vast majority of the first team would fine their natural level.

The exclusion from Europe was a major set back for us as we punched above our weight during the period we first qualified up to our exclusion. I dont remember too much of the politics but it was used to exclude all Welsh teams playing in the English pyramid and create WPL, which the Welsh FA expected to go from strength to strength.

If we have then crack on, if not we need to collectively do something about it, such as attracting outside investment and seriously increasing club membership. History has shown Wxm have many lean times and lean years financially. I forget the number of times over the years, when we thought we were on the up, but to be told the club is bust. It usually takes some success in a cup competition to kick start some good seasons, but our geographical location, gives us a big advantage and instead of in-fighting for the last decade, we need to find a way of tapping into that potential.
I don't disagree with any of the above but I was commenting on the hypothetical question that someone might think the WPL is the way forward.

That would not be the answer for me and would be the end of my support for the club. Just my view that's all.

Isn't it that FIFA or UEFA changed it so that you couldn't have two routes into the competition

So we either played in the FA cup or the FAW cup

True but I seem to remember at the time, Alun Evans WFA didn't really fight our corner but I suppose the threat to the national team had to be priority

No I remember that the Welsh FA had to set up the League of Wales (as it was then known) to maintain Wales as an independent football nation within FIFA and had to support the clubs who played in their league so made sure those clubs benefited from European qualification as oppose to clubs playing in the English pyramid
