Business has taught me to listen at all times to experts if I can. With football I know enough to know I don’t know that much. Unfortunately very many don’t get to that level of knowledge to have an understanding of the complexity of a situation to know their limits.

I also see a lot of this going on with the demand change thing, whilst some of the stuff I agree with it’s lightweight and doesn’t look at the basics of operating of the club or the challenges of recruiting replacements of suitable calibre to serve on the club board. I wouldn’t have anyone on there that didn’t do a similar level role (or had done if recently retired) in their working life. I want to see additions and people approaches and courted within a set structure of requirements. This I hope is what the trust are doing now.

As for the working with someone I can see that in some organisations but I feel if this is a somewhat different situation and if Spencer couldn’t do that he could then walk. That football role is the 100% priority at the moment and I hope for evermore. It’s played second fiddle for too long.
For me there is one skillset missing, that of a true CEO or leader with the ability to set the culture, set the working environment, outline the strategy, ensure the right people are in the right job, motivate and encourage everyone to find the inches of improvement every day to constantly move forward.

What I see is a commune of mid to upper level management but none have had that experience of being the leader. Maybe that's why the football thing hasn't been sorted, no one person has the responsibility to make the big decision to take it off one person and recruit someone better.

Great organisations are created by great leadership, good organisations are created by good leadership and poor ones by poor leadership. I totally understand your point on football and agree but I think the leadership element also needs sorting.

The trouble is 3pmsat , is that in his eyes he has a football person on board , Carl Darlington no less , he of ultimate success . The blue eyed boy of the Welsh FA . This is why i don't think you get why there is so much dislike of certain individuals . A lack of anything resembling winning and even competing .

Agreed.

I would see that as a chairman role on a very part time basis, again someone who has chaired a company with a board etc.

Agree. Folk confuse management with leadership. They are two separate skills. Like you, I see little or no leadership. That should be the role of the chairman, hence why I firmly believe the current set-up is too 'wooly' and therefore not fit for purpose.

The WST Chairman should be the Wrexham AFC Chairman of the Board, and they should drive strategy amongst the Board members. They must be accountable to the WST members for the Board's actions and club's results.

If that’s the case tell us that’s his role, if it is he needs to go. I’m not defending the clubs handling of football stuff, quite the opposite.

Some one who has or is running their own business, doesn't even have to have a board of directors. A good friend of mine once told me how his actions provided food on the table for a number of families and that responsibility drove him.

Perhaps the club need a Fred Tomlinson character or a poor mans Bill Kenwright ? Less of the blue chip claims that we are confronted with at election time.

At the end of the day its the members who indirectly choose the lead in both the WST and football boards. You get what you vote for.

The members haven’t voted for a chairman we have a self elected person doing the role or am I mistaken?

The WST has a chair and he is elected by the WST board. The club doesn 't have a chair. I am not sure how the self elected element comes in?

Strongly disagree. Different roles different strengths required. I was Trust Chair for a bit but no way I'd have been be qualified to Chair the Club. Chairing the Trust is a job in itself and a big responsibility. As far as I'm aware there is nobody who has chaired a company with a board of Directors on the Trust Board.
